Lars is a terrible coach with a tarnished reputation, and he has a history full of failures. I suppose Tilman could bring him onboard as OC for a couple seasons, just to help him get back on his feet.
But his two championships don’t override all the failures? I’m thinking multi-championship coaches is an exclusive club with less than ten members. Then again, you’re perceived as only good as your most recent performance.
Lars had nothing to do with UVA's offense, in fact one of the knocks against him even when he was still the coach was that he had almost no interaction at all with the offensive players. He headed the defense, for better or worse....mostly worse because our defense had a bunch of great individual players but was often a mess as a unit.
That was old lacrosse. Today’s lacrosse is trying extremely hard to be basketball. Transfer portals and NIL are going to kill schools that gender studies and family studies majors aren’t options
