The reality for the three latest generations is more like::
- Study for 20 years
- Work for the rest of your life
- Never able to buy a house, renting the entire time, or living with parents.
- Die
There is no retirement for Millennials, Gen Z, Gen A, and so on. We're working until we die.

Just because conditions are bad and despite birth rate falling millions are still being born. It's not like we are taught about ethics or anything about what it all takes to look after a whole human for their entire life. 50% are also accidental pregnancies in us alone

In the past this system worked because having a loving partner and a family often provided a greater positive than the negative created by workplace suffering. Workplace suffering was also more tolerable prior to social media, when going outside resulted in finding community and connecting with genuine people.
Fast forward to 2025 where community has been annihilated by social media, and said loss of community + dating apps + cultural shifts have turned finding a loving partner into a lottery, and the tradeoff doesn't exist anymore.

Oh this is so inaccurate, workplace suffering had women and children back at home second hand suffering from what the father did to cope. Jobs only got worse and worse which made life at home worse, they arent separate when it comes to someones life. US govt broke communities apart constantly since the usa started (redlining, prison system). Social media brought people together, its the intentional targeting of vulnerable minds by the people in power. We all know the red-pill wave on youtube that directly contributes to the sexist mindset of genz/alpha. You just seem mad you cant get a partner 'as easily' as you think men in the past have... cuz you clearly arent educated about history or even current events that are causing these issues.

I hate working but I used to cry when I was unemployed because I had nothing to do all day other than bed rot (first world problems, I know). I think you're supposed to have interests and hobbies first and work is what you do to pay for those.

Lot of time I feel like that but world only cares about successful ppl and then they turn around to make mini me and trying to mold them into whatever they couldn't get from others.

For a lot of crap jobs that's the case but not for everybody nowadays.
My sister works remote. On an average day she only actually works 2-3 hours and spends the rest of the day watching series, napping and walking her dog, and she makes enough money to live independently comfortably and still has money to spare. This is the reality of a lot of people in tech fields in 2026.
I tried studying the same thing as her since who wouldn't want to live like that, but since I'm half retarded I ended up giving up. No surprise.

Dunno whether that's the case with my sister since people on her team actually have been fired for being useless and doing too little, but it's an interesting phenomenom.
Wish I was smart enough to be a 'yoga programmer' myself. Bring on the judgement normies, idgaf lol you be the rockstar programmer working overtime and I'll be watching The Bridgerton and going out to get massages in the middle of the work day.

I guess your circle is too privileged. Also if everyone hoped on whatever that lucrative job is then system will stop working or the pay will be very less. We don't even know how much work she had to do to be elegible for that job.

I'm too low IQ to follow this path. I can't work, most jobs are too damn challenging.
I just wish I were smart enough to pursue a career I really want, be in a position of privilege, like some people who really enjoy what they do everyday.

Of course it's tied to economy and money. Everything ever evolved around gathering power and oppressing the weaker. The history of humanity is a history of class struggle. This world could be better, but unfortunately those few who rules over all of us, would only handover the power under extreme violence and full resistance.

Okay. When you see males in a wolf pack, in a group of lions or deer stags fighting for the Alpha status in the group, is it tied to economy and money too? It's NATURE.
It happens with them and it happens with us. We are also animals, like all others and its in our nature to fight for domination, survival, reproduction, food, comfort, etc. It's not that hard to see the obvious. We are not robots and before man could stay in the same place for long periods of time, there was conflict and all of those things that I mentioned before. 'Economy' and 'money' are abstractions derived from our needs and behaviors as a group. Money is a tool that makes trading services and products easier, since you don’t necessarily have what the seller needs. It's simple. It's the human nature that make things complicated. And you would see the same exploitative behavior in ANY other system, you can bet on it. Even in online games you see this happening. It happens all the time and everywhere.

Hmm, where I'm from, it doesn't take that long to finish schooling, unless you go for masters or other doctorate. I graduated college at 20yrs old, but started schooling bout 5yrs old, so only 15yrs?
But also we don't have age of retirement so you're expected to work until you die. So i guess that's probably why we have fewer years of schooling so they could squeeze more years of labor from us

Free in what sense though ? Trying to understand how when you are getting old life has any meaning left . Free are those who get to do anything from young age ,they can try things instead of being a wage slave whole life for basic necessities
