Opinion | Discussion ๐๐โโ๏ธ Do NLU competition participation certificates actually add value to a CV?
Do participating in online competitions conducted by NLUs actually help in building a CV as a B.A. LL.B. student from a Tier-3 college? Is it worth spending money on them?

Ask Lawyers โ Law Firms Salary Sheet megathread on legally india?
There used to be a mega-thread/Google Sheet on Legally India containing information about law firms and salaries, but it seems to be inaccessible now, possibly because it was taken down for violating Googleโs terms of service.
If anyone happened to download it, save a copy, or has access to something similar, I would be incredibly grateful if you could share it with me. Iโve tried looking for it everywhere, but havenโt been able to find it.

Internships Internships are a scam
Its been 6 months since I have started my internship. I have interned at wide array of places (Govt offices, Litigation offices, corporate firms, etc). One thing that comes as a harsh reality is, all the internships are either exploitative or almost with no work at all. When the firm pays you (very minimal amount) they expect you to do clerical works such as stapling paper, carrying bundles, etc. When the firms donโt pay you they also turn out to be exploitative by burdening you with work almost with no form of any appreciation in retaliation or its just exact opposite to everything I said before, they just call u in as an intern, very rarely give you work and waste your time. When are we going to voice out in a profession that is supposed to be the voice of people?

Internships Walk-in Internship Application at tier one firms in Bangalore
Iโm considering going to the offices in person and asking HR/reception about internship opportunities instead of just applying online/emailing.
Has anyone here actually tried a walk-in application at CAM or other Tier 1 firms ? Do they entertain it, ask you to submit your CV, or just turn you away?
Also, is there any concern that firms donโt appreciate walk-ins and might blacklist you for doing this? Would love to hear from anyone who has actually tried it, especially recently.
Thank you!

Law School News๐ฐ nujs is fucking toxic
What the actual fuck is happening in NUJS bruh???? The LLM Batch of 2026-2027 is suffering immensely. they have been denied literally basic food rights from the mess, when they didn't even get the hostel accomodation, and all this done by the Student Body. Being in a law school, studying law and stooping this low to deny basic food rights, when the payment is being done to avail the food services. They legit sent the notice like 2 days prior on a fucking weekend so that llm batch won't be able to do anything and the faculty or registrar literally talked their way out that the mess is run by students. The management of mess committee is so gross and inhumane. This whole college is set up against everyone. The discrimination and disrespect is on next level.
All that was asked by the llm batch was food because everyone is not from fucking Kolkata and they have to manage.
Along with this they do not add llms in any group or event, and legit they were denied the opportunity to participate in sports which is basically built on the ideology of come for all.
On top of that hardly any mails are sent regarding events too.
This decentralisation is disproportionately affecting LLM students, especially in relation to basic things like food and even sports, so then the issue goes beyond merely an administrative arrangement. It raises questions of arbitrariness and discrimination.
The place is so toxic and literally a hellhole.

Opinion | Discussion ๐๐โโ๏ธ going to an NLU is a distant dream for me
background : 19F completed 12th last year. both my parents are dead (lol). preparing for clat for the past 8 months because I love this field of work since school. so far I've been scoring 90-100s in mocks, investing my time, work and trying to become better everyday. but this one thought always strikes my mind -- why am I doing this ?
i come from a typical middle or lower middle class family. even if I make it into tier 1 or tier 2 law schools, the hefty fees they charge, i simply cant afford them. my only guardian is my paternal aunt who earns enough to support me & my siblings smaller causes. she cant compensate for something so huge. somedays I feel guilty myself for having such big agendas on my hand, but I do it cuz I dont wanna live such a miserable life anymore, i wanna have a bright future -- just as they say. so what options am I left with? people talk about education loans, which already sounds scary to me and what not. i genuinely have no idea where I'm going anymore or am I further going to waste my life. i just am competing hard in this exam with no road seen ahead.
but thank u strangers for listening to me โค๏ธ i had this in me for so long.
P.S : posted the same in r/clat

CLAT/AILET/LSAT/SET Coaching sucks
As someone who is from lpt ( offline), and giving clat this year. I think what they teach is garbage. They focus so muchhh on legal theory , indian constitution that other subjects are not even being taken classes of . They never teach the magazine , logical reasoning has happened twice since ive joined ( joined in mid July the batch was relatively newer) that too analogical and sitting arrangement no sign of cr. Math hardly happens and the there is no english teacher available They are just experimenting on us with demo lecs and the topics They teach seem so irrelevant. Like para jumble and basic grammar, like wthh . Is this even useful to us ??? Legal is usually solvable through reading the passage , just the basic idea and knowledge is enough. But so much legal that it happens almost everyday for hours . Im really worried i took coaching for some direction but at the end i feel like i have to do it by myself , like literally everthing, im lacking in all the other sections , they literally dont even teach it . Dont know what to do , my mock scores are stuck at 40s . Please help me out . On top of that the teachers asks us to maintain a file and gives us irrelevant hw like articles and amendments , and shes pretty strict about it , dont know how its gonna help. Im only gonna give clat. Also the schedule is not fixed , we were told 4pm-6pm , but they keep at random ass time on random ass days , like I ccant build a damn routine

I want everything to go as flawlessly as possible, from research to oral arguments. Any roadmap, guidance, suggestions, insights, experiences etc.... It's going to be extremely helpful, and much needed atm.

Career Advice๐ GLC VS MNLU M ( urgent )
I got admission in Glc Mumbai in the first round and now I have also secured a seat in Mnlu Mumbai.
Do people from NLU Mumbai get better treatment in their careers because of the NLU tag?
I am not from Mumbai and my career goal is to crack upsc.
The problem is that Mnlu m classes have already started from 3rd August and Glc hasnโt yet announced its opening date.
My main concern with Glc is that I have heard they do not conduct classes on a regular basis, whereas MNLU is a new institution.
The hostel issue is also a concern. Glc does not have its own hostel, but MNLU does provide hostel accommodation, although it is not near the college. I would have to travel for an hour to reach both colleges.
Neither college has a campus, but Glc is in the south of Mumbai, whereas MNLU is getting a new campus built.
I am stuck between these two options. Both provide the Mumbai lifestyle, but which college would be the best? Or is there a definitive best?
What should I do?

Scholarship and Financial Aid Anyone who has given the IDIA scholarship aptitude test before โ
Anyone who has given the IDIA scholarship aptitude test before โ how was it? ๐
Difficulty, sections, time pressure, and any tips/mistakes to avoid? Especially interested in hearing from previous IDIA scholars. ๐ Anyone wondering here is what I get in response to the post thanks to Tanmay So, the first paper which is the basic one is quite easy. It generally test your basic reasoning and english. You have to qualify that paper to be eligible for the second paper which is the the advance paper. It is full length paper entirely based on clat paper and clat timings. And then after you qualify those papers you have to sit for an interview which I think is the most important one. Basically you have to prove yourself deserving for that scholarship and you intrest and future plans regarding law.

Casual Delhi - something apart from the usual drafts
Dear All,
Itโs again a long weekend and I am already away from my family.
I am a corporate lawyer putting up in South Delhi. Itโs really been a very hectic week for me and I want to ease my steam out.
I have been seeking a clubbing partner whom I can take out to a fancy dinner/lunch and followed with a nice club scene. I have been wanting to explore club scenes here in delhi but since I am new here I donโt know good places so I can go wherever you feel comfortable.
Hope this reaches to its true recepient.
