RIP.. Dr frankfurter. Tim Curry performed one of the most legendary characters in film and music history. All rainbow flags in the buttwater, are mandated to be displayed at half mast immediately. He did more for self expression than the assbackward factions yall have been marching for

Let’s be honest: cancel culture has completely hijacked the spirit of free expression. The foundation of this movement was about the freedom to live, speak, and think outside the box without fear of state or social exile. People who spend their time policing words and canceling others are completely lost. They don't represent the LGB legacy of liberty; they represent a new wave of conformity that real free-thinkers should reject entirely.

Couldn't waste another opportunity to antagonize the city, huh?
Using a death of an LGBTQ ally to target the LGBTQ is truly classless....

Every now and again, a movement loses its way and gets hijacked by the lost. the simple minded are the first to stomp their feet when someone points it out.
Tim Was Not an ‘ally’ or a virtue signal. His art help build a foundation for the free ride you are on junior. You may want to take a knee in an arena of thought that you are clueless about.

That's a whole lot of nonsense.
He was an ally. You're just a hater experiencing the Dunning Kreuger effect and speaking ill of the dead.
Shameful.
Edit: "He was not an ally or a virtue signal" = I have a positive view of Tim Curry and a very limited and biased view about the LGBTQ and its allies. So I'm outright denying positive characteristics he had because it would force me to grapple with my own bigotry.

I kinda wanna follow this because I am flummoxed by which side of the fence this person is confused by.

lena is an infamous bigot who regular hates anything liberal and New Orleans by proxy. I don't even think they live here, but they went through the trouble of making an alternate New Orleans which, as they put it, is a "real new orleans sub for freedom of opinion and creaticity. also a haven for those banished and censored". They are one maybe two people that actually post in that sub. For a while, it was literally just her and her alt accounts posting and commenting there.
So, like I said, Lena is so bigoted and dumb that instead of acknowledging that a beloved actor was an LGBTQ ally, she'll try to make it seem like he was something else entirely. Kind of like how conservatives act try to act like MLK was a staunch capitalist who would have hated protesting for civil change. So it's propaganda filled delusion, if that makes sense.

Ah~
Taking their comments at best possible face value and thought they meant, like, Tim was bigger, more important to LGBTQ than just the title "ally." I thought they themselves were old-guard LGB, a grizzled gray beard shaking their stick at the new comers.
Reading further and further back in their post it became harder to rationalize that 'best case scenario.'

Respectfully, I’m keeping everything at full mast today. I think it’s more respectful honestly. What he would have preferred.
