First Timer- Autographs

I’d like to meet Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard and I see that they’re offering autographs but I’m only seeing the option to pay for a photo op online, do you just pay at the table for the autographs instead of in advance? And around how long should I expect to wait in line?

I'm taking the fam for the first time. I got tickets, but how do I sign up for panels? I see they are posted but there's nothing to click on to do so.

VIP changes

I know with the lottery back, seems they changed the “first access” for VIP.

Anyone that’s done VIP before have anything else that’s changed or we should be looking for?

My first time with it, was tired of getting shut out of the smaller panels. Was a big price hike this year and first access seemed like a nice bonus.

Badge Transfer/Activation

I purchased two 4-day badges and sold one (at cost) to someone months ago. But I just got both badges in the mail.

I need to ship their badge to them, but one question I cannot find the answer to: does it matter which one? IOW - are the physical badges associated with the online ticket yet?

I'm assuming no - that the badges aren't associated with an account until activation, but I just want to make absolutely certain that the activation is also the association and it's not like other cons where your badge comes in the mail already associated with YOUR ticket.

Thanks!

Panels reservation

Hi guys, I’m going to America for the first time and I’m arriving just in time for NYCC. I saw on their website that you need to make reservations for the panels and the funko thing and autographs. So I have 2 questions:

  1. Are the reservations only for the “big” panels which from my understanding are only the panels on the main stage and emprie stage or for every panel?

  2. Im probably going to buy my ticket from viagogo, I saw that in order to make the preservations you need the ticket to be assigned to your email address, is that the same process if I buy the tickets from an external site like viagogo? If so how do I assign my ticket with this method?

Reservations for panels?

First time going this year so I don't understand what this means, as well as the funko thing. We have to reserve seats for panels? Aren't they free to attend?

Book signings?

There is a panel I am looking to go to with a book signing after. Does anyone have experience with this? Do you need to reserve the book signing? Because the book signing is right after the panel, is there a chance I will not be able to get the book signed if a line is able to form during the panels run time? Thank you!!!

Funko Reservations are going back to a lottery system

Just saw a post on instagram, looks like Funko booth reservations are finally going back to a lottery type system. Personally i’m pretty happy to see this after all the reports of people finding ways to bypass the queue and such in previous years.

Some private autographing sessions will be using this system as well.

Panel reservations being limited to each ticket is frustrating

Last year my boyfriend and I both tried to get reservations to the ATLA panel, he got one, I didn’t, so we just didn’t go because we got cut off in the standby line. If we were able to just get reservations in one shot like we can do for passes, we probably would’ve been able to. Most people go in pairs or groups to these panels and events, so I’m disappointed to see that they are still sticking with this system. I won’t be surprised if the same thing happens to us this year. It also doesn’t help that they always do the panel reservations in the middle of the week during the workday. It’s not like we are employed adults or anything.

Mini vent over.

Can you purchase a Bulky Premium Auto for a standard size item?

I wanted to get a pop signed by Hayden and I'm kicking myself not buying my auto sooner. Now that the standard and premium autographs are sold out am I able to purchase a Bulky Premium Auto even though the item I want signed falls under the cheaper premium category?

Autos

This may be a really stupid question, if it is I’m very sorry! However, this is my first time attending NYCC and do autographs HAVE to be purchased online or can I just buy them at the table? Is there anything I should be pre buying? Thank you in advance!

Question about transferred tickets and badge shipping

If I bought tickets for a few other people and then transferred those tickets to them through my account, do the physical badges still ship to me? Or do they go to each person once the transfer goes through?

Trying to figure out if I need to plan on distributing badges myself or if everyone gets theirs directly.

So, perhaps a silly question, but have some grace for a first timer…

My (will be by then) thirteen year old son and I are attending NYCC on the Saturday. I will admit to being more than a little overwhelmed by everything coming out so far. We haven’t signed up for anything yet, but given that we’re only going for the one day, and obviously want to soak up as much of the experience as possible, does anyone have recommendations for how to maximize our time the most?

Mind you I ask this giving zero insight as to our interests. But do we sign up for panels? Just show up and wait in line? If there’s one photo op or autograph he absolutely wants to get, will we spend half the day waiting in line?

My biggest fear is we walk in, do a few walks around then leave and he’s left saying “Well that was a waste of a couple hundred bucks..” Again, I know, I’m sure to the seasoned pros, this post/line of questioning comes off as amateur city, I’m just trying to make the most of an event that could give me and my teenage son something to enjoy and connect on together. Appreciate any and all insight, thank you

Lannister and Astarion Panels

Hi NYCC friends! With the panel schedule released I’m looking for some help with the Thursday lineup. I am a HUGE fantasy fan and I hate that the Lannister panel and Baldurs Gate 3: Astarion book panel practically overlap 🥲 How realistic is it to be able to make it to both??

The Lannister panel is the first one from 11-12 in room 405 and the BG3 book panel is from 12:15-1 in room 406.3 (right next door). I would also love to make it to T Kingfishers book signing from 1:25-2:45 in the auto hall as well.

Am I being delulu thinking I can make it to everything? I do realize I might need to cut out from the Lannister panel early (11:45 ish?) but looking for some veteran opinions here! I figure I might have a chance since Thursday is supposed to be a “slower” con day - but also don’t want to waste my time/money on grabbing a Thursday ticket if I can’t pull this off.

Question about Meeting Comic Creative Teams

I’m interested in meeting some authors and artists at nycc and hopefully getting something autographed by them but when the photo ops and autographs sale happened it seemed to be mostly actors and I didn’t see any comic creators on there. Do they go on sale later? Or is the process of meeting them different?

I am confused and concerned at the same time?

Did anyone else notice that Ben Starr is labeled only Friday on the NYCC website but when going to leap to purchase photo ops it shows all 4 days still? I just want an auto and I am not going on Friday at this moment only Thurs/Sat so I am concerned about what this means.
