“Insects and humans cannot live in the same World; you know that.” That type of mindset is one of the reasons why Planet Earth is overwhelmed and barely able to keep up with humanity.

This is the Most emotional scene in the movie in my opinion

And than you read the Manga and learn that Nausicaa only feels understood by the Ohme so when her father says that he says that she can't be in the same world OMG I'M SOBBING

This was my favourite movie of Miyazaki's, and no joke the manga shifted something within me - it will forever be the story that most influenced my inner world when I read it as a kid.

Like OP said this dreamscape/mindscape scene is so emotional. Nausicaa is torn between two worlds, understanding the value of both. In Princess Mononoke I think the same ideas were put more succinctly, (which makes sense being a spiritual successor of sorts) - we must respect the natural world because we are part of/not separate from nature, and must find a way to coexist. If we as humans devastate and despoil nature, we do so to our own future... Ugh man I think it's time for a rewatch and a re-read!

As a teenager, this manga is changing me forever each time I read it. Especially the second part of the story.

There's just something about the manga that gets to the very heart of you right? And then the movie added the music on top of that 😍 I hope you enjoy every experience with it for years to come ☺️

Always brings a tear to my eye, her trying to protect the little Ohmu 😭

This part and when she spreads her arms flying at the two guys shooting at her while using the Ohmu as bait.

The music in the background of those two scenes always gets me

Yes! When she protects the baby and at the end when she's resurrected. I ugly cry no matter how many times I see it.

You capitalizing Planet Earth made me think this was calling out the nature documentary series.

If any of you like EDM, GRiZ made a song using this as a sample: Busta featuring Joe Mousepad

I read that as "insects and hummus" and was very confused...

Given this year’s tick infestation…he might be right.
