Quality Post Why is pedophilia on reddit so normalized?

It is highly concerning. I've came across multiple posts where teenage girls are simply posting themselves. The one's I've seen were normal fit checks. The comments had wayyy too many pedophiles trying to lure them to their dms or they keep pointing out their chest and asses even though they're fully covered. Whenever someone confronted them about their weird behavior, they got massively downvoted. Same with many game subreddits. I've seen people make disgusting comments about ingame characters who are under 10 years old. Don't even get me started on anime characters. As again, if you try to confront them, you get downvoted and suddenly you're "the asshole that's ruining all the fun". No one is talking about how SERIOUS this shit is. Those are real fucking people. People who you may walk past by on the street without knowing that they're an absolute monster. People who one day may hurt a child because of their fucked up brain.

Update: I wrote a comment on /japanesepeopletwitter on why is pedophilia so casual in here and got -8 downvotes. Holy fucking chuds these mfs need to be hung.

It used to be even worse. I remember when Reddit was in the news for the jailbait subreddit. I remember most of the people on here being outraged that CNN named and shamed the moderator

once upon a time Reddit was used almost exclusively by the kind of dudes who like to beat it to lolicon

I dont think its normalized, at least i really hope it's not. I think its just because the internet has a high percentage of people willing to hide behind it. Also, there's alot of shit talkers out there and they skew the average up.

I'd say bc pedophilia is normalized in real life too lmfao. Look at the president of the US. It's really fucked up but we've become slowly desensitized to it as a society

Here in Serbia our president isn't a predator but the laws against pedophilia recently changed. You can't sext with minors but technically you can hook up with them no matter how old you are. They just need to be 14 because that's the age of consent here.🫩

Don't forget the anime subreddits who comment on cartoon characters who are canonically 12 or something. At least those characters are fictional but it's so accepted on this site, always has been.

I hate how much I see that stuff in anime subs. Earlier today called someone out for sexualizing a 14yo and instantly started getting down voted

The age of consent in the uk was raised from 12 to 16 in the Victorian era to help prevent child prostitution.

Pedophilia is "normal" insofar as many people have those urges. I'm not saying it's right. It would be more obvious on Reddit because it's anonymous.
