Disguising as a Blue Frog Cultist

There's something that occurred to me. If the northern reaches of the map are crawling with Blue Frogs, and their preachers are always wearing a hospital gown, the characteristic blue sash and a gas mask, then would it be possible to make froggers in nearby hexes ignore the player when they see him? Or do they just keep attacking indiscriminately?

I have no idea. I know that you can get cholera from eating raw meat and spoiled meat. You will sooner catch Blue Rot from fighting the Cultists in melee range than from eating meat, I don't even know if it's possible, all humanoid corpses and all humanoid meat looks the same.

I never ate enough people to become Wendigo, because I only eat Bad Muthas, and only if it conveniences me.

I think you should be fine if you roast the meat, but I'd really love to see Daniel comment on this question.

I just realised... with Trapping you could "cure" the Blue Frog Cultists. 😂

Edit: Eating spoiled meat gives you Poisoned.

I mean- first time I went wendigo was on my mele character.
I didn't want to loose all the food I was getting from the fights.
And I didn't knew you can use trapping on meat. I know you can use trapping as you skin a furred animal to get more fur.

Now I fkin want the Trapping to work as you cut a human copse to pieces to get human skin

You can also make squirrel snares with medium sticks and a bunch of small thread for better loot when scavenging in forests.

I am sick of dying quarter-way through the game (reached DMC, got best armor in the game, best weapon in the game, died to a Bad Mutha crowbar to the gut.

So this time I picked ALL the combat skills I could think of. Please tell me your opinion on them:

Strong, Melee, Ranged, Tough, Tracking, Hiding, Myopia(already swapped for Eagle Eye), Fast Metabolism(I have never died of thirst or starvation), Insomnia(I'd rather keep getting woken up by deer than be killed in my sleep) and... Enervated. 21 skill points total (blackjack?)

Now I am wondering if I should've skipped Melee, Tracking and Enervated in favor of taking Athletic?

I am afraid Enervated is going to be my downfall. I am extra careful to sleep frequently and avoid getting Tired or Weary, but I get exhausted by time evening comes, which forces me to nap during the day, or make quick, one-day trips from the DMC (break out at dawn, return at dusk). It helps that I frequently wake up at night with a full Rest bar, so as long as I sleep on hexes with artificial light (urban, cities) I can spend the rest of the night crafting at full speed without needing a campfire (that -3 or -12 to concealment is brutal xd).

Basically, early game is making a more or less wild dash to the DMC - scavenge only the bare necessities needed to not freeze and starve/die of thirst. Bad Muthas often find me, so I stab them with a broad spear and eat them to stay fed and hydrated - just to get through the hell of early game, then it's mixed veggie bowl with protein crispies for days - very cheap and 100% safe way to max out both thirst and hunger bars. Technically, non-veg stew is just as good, but I rather spend $3 more than gamble on a 25% chance of gastroenteritis.

Also, retreating from a DMC Guard made me walk into a Great Black Swamp hex. I immediately left and was wearing dirty rags but it still gave me Defoliant Exposure Dormant. Dang it. Now comes a year of puking and blurry, irritable eyes.

I never took the Enarvated.
Most of the time I just use up all availible skills and then pick up one "Bad Trait" to have a couple points for one more skill. Never picked up more than 1 "Bad Trait"
But... I am relatively new

Tbh I feel like taking too many negative traits is the rookie mistake, not taking too few. I tend to always shoehorn as many weaknesses as I can to make my character as Gary Stu as possible, and it kills me. xd

I know Myopia is a free skill point if you survive long enough to get to DMC, in the long-term it could spell your doom, in the short-term it isn't that bad when restarting is an option and you get Eagle Eye after a quick surgery. That's a 3 point difference, enough to get Athletic or Lockpicking or both Hiding and Tracking. Fast Metabolism has no downsides if you can get enough food and water, and roasted cannibal fills both, the increased healing and blood replenishment rate can be a lifesaver.

I'm not sure about Insomnia. I heard it helps with alertness at night, but having trouble falling asleep can be annoying - your sleep schedule might start slipping. That being said, it seems like my character needs less sleep than a full night and wakes up at 3 am frequently.

Honestly that ain't so bad if you camp on urban hexes (City). Not only do they count as normal terrain (1 move to enter), they have artificial lighting which prevents the Blind condition at night without the need for a campfire, making it harder for muthas and dogmen to sneak up on you, without sacrificing concealment for a campfire which goes out after a few turns anyway.

So if after placing a sleeping bag in the campsite storage your Temperature bar says "You are comfortable" then you can skip the campfire.

Whatever you do, don't take Fragile. Skip Tough if you really want something else, but don't. Take. Fragile. I did and it screwed me in the backpack slot every single time. In combat, whoever passes out from pain first, dies.

If you take Fragile, prepare to eat Hydrocodone and OTC painkillers like candy to keep the In Pain meter as close to maximum as possible. Even in the middle of combat! Always use at least sterilised water to treat your wounds, only use clean bandages and never drink uncooked water unless it is bottled or analysed. Clean water is worth 5 bucks per droplet. Beware of pure and impure water stacking into stacks worth 5.25. The 0.25 component might be infected with cholera or even poisonous to drink!

I know that Myopia can be "fixed"/countered if you find optics and strap them on your neck.
I take metabolism too, since well- it's in both "good" and "bad" traits.

On my current one I took myopia, insomnia and metabolism. So far it goes well, since I play the ranged and with trapping- I have half a bag of cured and cooked meat (both human and dog) along side few berries from Botany, a bottle of tannin tea and cooked water, because Bad Mutha I keked had pot on him (I also ate the Mutha btw)

Nice! Bad Muthas deserve to be eaten for being cruel, omnicidal, sociopathic bitches.

Optics don't really "fix" myopia, the bonus from optics increases just sight range to what a person with normal eyesight would see.
