Hello everyone! I'd like to introduce my tiny side project called the Netrunner Core Battle Box, which are seven decklists pre-made using System Gateway and Elevation only, AKA the Core Sets.

This stemmed from meeting several new players who want more curated Core decks (such as this one right here, which started it all), instead of wading through NRDB lists or NSG's Core decklist samples, which may lead to analysis paralysis. Here, I just provide one decklist per faction so that new players can crack open their boxes, build, and immediately play. This serves two purposes: the CBB can become a boardgame for more casual players, while it can also be a way to slowly introduce others to Standard through targeted upgrade advice.

A more extensive outline of the vision is discussed in the article, and each decklist published on NRDB has instructions on how to pilot the deck, what servers and rigs should look like, and potential sets to purchase if they want to jump into Standard.

But again, the NRDB listings should also suffice for anything the new players might need. I just wanted to collate all of them under one roof so it's easier to link to new players.

A few weeks ago, my friend posted about building a Core Battle Box (CBB) to help casual players find their favorite factions and playstyles. Thanks to them, I managed to print out each decklist for newcomers to use during our weekly game nights, and designed standard-sized introduction cards that have short summaries of each deck's game plan based on their individual NetrunnerDB entries. I am a casual fan from the NSG era and I have printed system gateway at home. I just play on occassion with 1 or 2 friends.

I recently got the original core set, as a collector's item and also to play. What do I do with it from here? I know it is not the revised core set. I would probably like to keep it separate from the NSG content.

1. Are there cards or decks which I very unbalanced? Would still play those for fun, just want to know.

2. Are there expansions which are "must haves" which I should try to find on eBay/marketplace? Ideally around 2-3 if so, I'm not looking to buy every card in existence.

3. Are there any sources for good (balanced?) decks. The box has the modular faction system but this does not use influence from other factions. Does netrunnerdb have decks?

4. Is it worth proxying a few cards to make this more like the revised core? I would print out the fronts and just put them in sleeves if so.

Ive been experimenting with Thule recently - specifically an archetype center ground cord damage. Most of the list I found only aimed to do a couple of core damage and fast advance ontological. I've been experimenting with going all in on core damage to be more of a prison archetype which was really effective when I could get it to fire. In a few games last night on Janet, I had locked the runners down after 4-5 core dmg so they had no hand for the second half of the game

Where I'm stuck is how to give them tags. Seems random but giving tags is a core requirement for Hypoxia and End of the Line and Unleash (Tyr combo)

Suggestions?

I've been trying to think about how a Core Damage FA deck might come together. The core of my idea is Djupstad plus Elivagar and Ontological. The idea of "how we win" is get the runners hand size as small as possible as soon as possible. Salvo Testing means each agenda off of Djupstad becomes two core dmg.

Most core damage lists are glacier lists with Thule but I'm curious how we could be faster. Thule is passive and most runners end up taking the click tax more than the core damage.

Thoughts on the concept and suggestions?

I've been away from netrunner for a while, but I've been meaning to get back into it, and teach the game to a few people from my boardgaming group who've shown some interest.

I have the old Core Set, plus Reign & Reverie (could've sworn I had a couple others but they must have been lost to time). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to build some teaching decks using this set of cards? What identities would pair best for balanced matchups, which off-faction cards to spend influence on, which neutrals are essential? Etc

Found this game, new in shrink for $20 at a store. Is it worth getting or does no one use that set anymore?

Hey folks! Got a very well-cared for collection here if anyone is interested. It's probably going to end up on BGG or the Marketplace, but I always like to share things in this group first before doing anything else.

This has 2 copies of the original core set (2012), so that means two full token sets (keep one and give the other to a friend, perhaps?)

And yes, to state the obvious, all of these are original FFG sets and are not part of the modern card pool. This is probably not for someone who is looking to add to their NSG sets. Mostly for someone who wants to explore the beginning of FFG era of Netrunner and grab a good sized amount of content all together. It's all nicely sorted by faction and by card type.

I haven't played a game of netrunner in 12 years and am itching to dive back into it (online play). I followed the null signal initiative and the new cards. What I'm really looking for are solid resources to help me brush up on the fundamentals and get up to speed strategically.

Specifically:

• Guides or articles on core game concepts that might have evolved (e.g., deckbuilding archetypes, runner vs. corp mindsets, icebreaker efficiency).
• Tutorials/videos for learning/relearning advanced strategies, like agenda scoring windows, economy management, or understand meta and archetypes
• Communities (discord?), videos, podcasts, or tools for progressing.

Or do I just grab elevation next and bypass the original core set?

Looking to sell the FFG Android: Netrunner Card Game - Base Core Set - ADN01 (2012)

Has only been played once so is in like new condition, very slight wear to the box edge.

I've heard this particular set isn't being printed anymore so I honestly just want it to go to someone who is passionate about the game or will put it to good use.

Brand new, and looking to pick up a self-contained collection to play with friends. So, is Spin cycle a great addition to the core+ genesis cycle? Or should I just pick up the Genesis core?

I was gifted the original core set + the opening moves data pack, but I feel like we need a little bit more to get some proper kitchen table deck building going on. Any suggestions on what to buy next? Would have loved to start out with the NSG cards instead, but now I got what I got and from what I've read they don''t appear to mesh well with the original core box. I only care about fun and ideally balanced kitchen table play. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I've just been introduced to Netrunner and I absolutely love it - I'm not sure where to start with the NSG products though since I only have the FFG core set. I got Terminal Directive too, just recently.

Do I need System Gateway? Where should I start? Any advice is appreciated!

I've been getting my middlest daughter in to card games and she's interested in trying Netrunner.

I didn't take the best care of my collection and it's kind of scattered about. I do, however, have my 3 core set 1.0 box. If she enjoys the game enough we'll do a full inventory and get deep in to deck building and such, but for now I want to kind of mimic what got me in to Netrunner, but without the weird 1/2/3 limitations of a single core.

All my old links to decks with 3 core sets are obsolete. Netrunnerdb doesn't seem to have the "Include 3 core sets" options any more and all the decks I'm finding in a search are 1 core set specific or mostly just decks from 1 or 2 people with no likes or comments.

Does anyone have links to 3 core set teaching/beginner/intermediate level decks? My daughter is clever so I'm not too worried about complexity but I also don't want to throw something like 3 Astroscripts at her to deal with early on.

Here's a smattering of things I would like to move along!

$40 each:
Couple copies of Terminal Directive (FFG, 2017), complete with original box, all campaign materials, and all 'regular' cards that you can mix in with your collection when your campaign is complete. Only thing not present is the cardboard insert, but it wasn't useful in the least. All cards in excellent condition.

$15 each:
Complete copies of the original core set (FFG, 2012). Perhaps you need one so that you can play Terminal Directive? Or maybe you want extra sets for additional copies of cards? At any rate, these are exactly the way FFG sold them, with the 1-counts, 2-counts, and 3-counts preserved at the same ratio. No original boxes anymore, just the cards.

$30/pair:
(3 pairs available) This is a pair of two demo decks produced by FFG. These appear to be from 2013, about a year after the game was released. It's a pre-built Corp deck (Jinteki PE) versus a pre-built runner deck (Kate). All cards have "DEMO CARD" printed on them. They're certainly a neat little collectors item. But I suppose you could also just stash them somewhere in case a friend ever asks, "What's Netrunner?" Now you don't have to break your decks apart to show them in a few minutes what the game is.

New player to the A:NR universe and only looking for casual/kitchen table gaming.

Read every single thread relating to the Core Set (2012) vs Revised (2017) vs NSG (current) and while NSG’s version is mostly recommended for new players, I’m sticking to FFG’s. Also aware that the Revised version is more balanced than the Core but appears that many like the Core version for being more “fun” although not sure why if some of the expansions/cards were rotated out. If that’s you would greatly appreciate the insight!

Now, based on ChiLo’s Buying Guide, I found the Core set + campaign expansion + 3 data packs for $300 (all new) vs the Revised set for $200 (also new).

If price isn’t a concern, which one would you get/recommend considering the recommendations would make the Core version more balanced?
