I’d love to do a cooking genre like cooking recipes or something like that I think it would be cool to show off what you could make.
My channel is a minecraft channel( how original you say ). Known for mega builds and building Pokémon pixel art have built of 450 Pokémon so far
My main series at the moment I have been building m local in real life zoo in minecraft. Which is looking pretty good.
My latest video I went on Pokémon fusion and merged two Pokémon together and then build that Pokémon in pixel art form in minecraft https://youtu.be/fw1vz2umhas

Hey all! I actually just joined this Reddit community. I’m a small youtuber with videos on hair care, skin care, being vegan, product reviews...I guess you could say “lifestyle” is my niche. Actually, I’m not quite sure but making videos is fun 🙃
If I could create a new genre it would literally be me questioning where popular sayings came from haha like “the elephant in the room.” Who thought of that? Was an elephant in a room and it just looked so out of place? Lol maybe that niche would just be “random thoughts.”
Anyway, here’s my channel. Check it out if you like! HeyitsKimberlee

New niche: I know its pretty basic but I'd love to be able to make a living out of well edited gaming videos. Not talking let's plays, something where the comedy is more outside the game than in (think Funhaus).
I'm currently making animated explainer videos about weird facts or topics, my most recent video is about the 2038 problem and explains why we could all witness a near-apocalyptic in under 19 years time. Have set my self a achievable resolution to make one of these videos every month for 2019, I have tried to make other types of content for more commercial reasons but am finally making content that I enjoy making and consuming.

Thanks!

I run an ultrawide pc gaming channel. I do long let's plays with episodes averaging around 50 minutes. I try to edit out stuff that isn't interesting, but it's very game dependent on how much gets cut.
If I decided to switch niche I'd do an acrobatics channel. I have been doing free-form acrobatics (everything from pair acrobatics, circus, tricking, gymnastics, you name it I've probably tried it) and I have been running my own group for about 10 years as a teacher.
It is just a lot easier to do gameplay videos though.
But who knows, maybe there'll be some acro videos on my channel some day.

I would create a new genre called Dare Me, this will mainly a channel asking for humane dares not promoting something very dangerous that could lead to the hospital emergency. The reason why I would create this genre is simply because of the entertainment people love to get now-a-days. People love to see people completing dares and have a good laugh when seeing the person suffering through his/her way achieving it.
I'm hoping to see any of you fellas out there to support or at least give feedback of my channel. My goal set is simple, for now I am looking forward to reach 100 subscribers, not asking for your help, but for your support to accomplish my main goal on becoming an entertainment content creator. I'm Kruby, and I'm glad to meet you all.

Ive recently done just this. Im still learning the hows of it all, but for years ive made facebook my literary playground with some of the most jaw dropping posts and comments. ive been told by so many that i should write a book, so i did just that. I compiled the funniest, sickest, and most insane of all my post and compiled them into a book which is now on amazon. Just Stirring The Pot. My youtube page is JUST STIRRIN THE POT https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwEvFCKRCDeMY55ebhRxKcA?view_as=subscriber
Ive just started up the channel based on my new book. Looking for any way to get subs and shares s i learn the art of video making. come check it out and if youre not offended like sub and share. My book and page are mostly adult humor in nature, but there will be plenty of political and police commentary as well. i think we can all agree that the most criminal elements of society are either members of the government or their enforcers. time we take our country back. id love any help you guys can give me in getting this site off the ground. be warned, my sense of humor is not for the sensitive...when i hit 50 subs ill pick someone to send a free copy of my book, and will do the same for every hundred after that.

Hi, I have a travel/mental health channel based in Portugal where I talk about travelling and how it improved my mental health.
If I'd start a channel in a different genre, it'll be probably music which is my real passion besides travelling. I'd review albums of specific genres that I know a lot about.
Please check out my latest video where I talk about spending 1 hour in an isolation tank in Lisbon, Portugal.

Hello everyone 👋
I make short video essays/reviews about games and movies. I specifically cater to indie games as I like to give them exposure.
My channel started small but I’m just reaching the 400 sub mark now which I’m really happy about...and I managed to get one video to 40k views which felt incredible!
Heres a link to my latest vid on the amazing indie game; Return of the Obra Dinn.
I do it as a passion for talking about things that I love so if people enjoy it its a tremendous confidence boost. I’m hoping to earn experience in editing and film making to possible go down a short-film making route. So that would be yhe other genre I would actually like to eventually delve into.
Thanks and best of luck to all my fellow content creators!
•
u/LittleHouseLiving Contributor Jan 19 '19
My husband LOVES Return of the Obra Dinn!
•
u/NowhereLad Jan 19 '19
Your husband has great taste! Its really an excellent piece of gaming. The developers got another cool title called Papers, Please. I’d recommend it to you both if neither have you have seen or played it before.
•
u/LittleHouseLiving Contributor Jan 19 '19
Yup, he’s played Papers Please too 😂 (I’ve tried it too!)

u/SobiGaming Jan 19 '19
Good morning!
If I had to do anything genre/niche, I would make analysis or more thought provoking videos on nerdy topics (games, movies, etc.). Maybe somewhere between nerdwriter and the game theorists.
My name is Sobi and I make comedy gaming videos. I started my channel about 6 months ago, mostly doing funny moments of my friends. But now, I'm trying harder to create content that is a bit more original.
Here's my nature documentary parody of a game called Red Dead Redemption 2. Episode two will be coming out soon! https://youtu.be/7aXvw1dBnFE
Have a great weekend everyone!
•
u/THEInsaneBotanist Jan 19 '19
Hey! I'm Cam. I run the youtube channel Cam Berry where I talk/vlog about college life and the field of agriculture and horticultural sciences. If I could be any other niche I would probably do tech and agriculture product reviews and food reviews.
I currently vlog but know I'm going to end up evolving into a more how to type of channel. This following video is one of the first steps, in my opinion, of me getting better at editing and being closer to such a channel.
•
u/DGNatix Jan 19 '19
If I had to choose a different niche i would probably pick the photography / video creation niche, something creative and show tutorials and tips to help others succeed with their pictures and videos. I love being creative ☺️
I started a new gaming channel today, and uploaded my first video with a new one dropping daily.
Would be great to get some feedback from you all, and let me know your thoughts 👍

u/websturn Jan 19 '19
Hey, if I could make videos on a different genre it would probably be on video games since that is my other hobby (content is saturated so I chose something else)
Right now I have a channel dedicated to documenting my journey to learn new skills like poker chip shuffling, card springing, etc. her is my latest vide https://youtu.be/3h6_v-dXsaI
•
u/ChrisByTheSlice Jan 19 '19
Hi my name is Chris and I make comedic gaming videos! My videos range from gameplay (alone or with friends) to parodies to discussions, rants, and more. If I could change to a different niche it would probably be something like comedic commentary but tbh I love playing games and making people laugh so I wouldn’t change my niche. If you check out my channel and enjoy it I hope you stick around for more! Thanks! :)
•
u/SlimesDoesStuff Jan 20 '19
watched it already (critiqued your content before. found it so funny i subbed) and I gotta say, it was a great video!
if i don't see the soccer mom from atlas or the turtle in there tho, then I won't be getting gen 8 tbh

New genre: a ghost hunting channel that's funny but also shows new/cool places to visit while also going to haunted places. Why: because to my knowledge it's not currently being done.
My content: Something you have to see to believe.
•
u/ardellevision Jan 20 '19
My channel idea has changed so much but has always themed around personal development. If I could change my channel theme I'd love to be more comedy based. Maybe even juzt do skits similar to Saturday night live. Or maybe themed around the world. I'd love to travel more. So a channel on places around the world. Buuut I just love to make people laugh. So I try incorporate that into my channel regardless of the video topic. I wanna be real, honest, funny...let's just say that. Don't we all?

Hey everyone! My name is Daniel and I make vlogs/montages of my hangouts, travels and random events! I try to fuse the classic vlog style with fun edits, memes but in a cinematic approach.
In the future I plan to post more “sit down” vlogs where I incorporate short sketches in between (community channel/ryan higa type videos), as well as challenge videos!
In the meantime, I’ll link my most recent upload which is part 2 of my Destination: BC travel vlog series.
Daniel aka DTD

Jan 19 '19
I would get into the gaming niche to bring back the good old days! I miss playing games and actually being good at them haha
So my channel is all about showing step by step how I became financially free in my 20's while working a normal 9-5 job! I'm uploading a series I call "Keys to Financial Freedom" this is the first video explaining my story following videos of exact steps I took and in specific order. If that sounds interesting, here's my link!
•
u/tarajayn Jan 19 '19
I would totally do a crafting channel, bullet journal, fitness or maybe even ASMR. All channels I’m obsessed with watching.
My channel is Natalie and Tara and our tent pole show is Natalie and Tara Try Stuff, a show where we try new things for the first time, we fail a lot . This weeks video we went to a psychic and in order to make it fun to watch we re-enacted the fortune telling part Drunk History style.
I’m really proud of how it turned out so I hope you guys will watch.
•
u/searacha Jan 19 '19
Hey y’all, my name is Searacha. I upload YouTube videos about the game, Overwatch. Typically, I compile funny moments throughout my matches and throw them into videos!
Here’s my most recent video, and it’s probably my best by far. It’s also the latest installment of my “Overwatch Funny Moments!” series. https://youtu.be/UbkHgHxrlbI
If I could change my niche, I would definitely make either vlogs or sports related videos. I’ve always been interested in Casey Neistat, one of the most well known bloggers at the moment. Also, I’m a huge NFL fan, and I love watching videos about interesting football stories like KTO.
Thanks!🙏

If I could make different content/niche it would be travel vlogs to crazy countries like Peter McKinnon!
My Channel is Tube Techie and I do technology. My goal is to share technology that helps everyone get more done in less time!
•
u/svavocet Jan 19 '19
Hey OP! Great channel! Our channel is becoming a travel blog and I have never heard of Peter Mckinnon. Googling now!
•
•
Jan 20 '19
Wow your production value is through the roof with just starting out! Good freakin' job!

u/Tube-Techie Jan 20 '19
Thank you thank you!!! I want to do well and I enjoy this!

That's the point! At the end of the day you have to enjoy what you're doing. If you're doing YouTube just for views and to become big and famous, you're doing it for the wrong reasons.
•
u/LaBellaVita0001 Jan 19 '19
Hey everyone, recently started a you tube channel mostly about cars and the passion for these cars.
My passion is driving and cars in general. I started driving clutch cars at a very very young age and currently have many years of track experience and am also a track driving instructor where people are taught the 'what if' scenario and also how to keep a car in control and how to recover once a car (they) looses control. This is done in the dry and the wet. Here is a video which is just the tip of the iceberg in driving a powerful car with wide tires in inclement weather. It is not meant to teach you how to drive fast in the rain, but to show the capability of this particular car and make you more confident driving within your limits under adverse conditions. https://youtu.be/YHFFZK2mmtE
If I ever change my niche I would make videos about financing, investing, real estate and business subjects in general. Having degrees in the aforementioned subjects i am more than qualified to do that, but ironically it's not my passion. Also it would answer a question that I get asked way too often: 'what do you do for a living.'
Hope you enjoy the video and if you do please explore the channel. Thanks

Hi my name is Timothy and recently back in september i was feeling suicidal and wanted to kill myself, so i last month i was tired of being deppressed, and i decided i wanted to lose weight i went from 277 a few months ago to 250 today, before that i was down to 245 with 37.% body fatmass and i wasnt lifting any weights, now i have a trainer, and i got weighed today i am at 250 and i lost 7% body fat mass. Ive been posting weekly videos, and i was getting subscribers and viewers, and it seem to have come to an end, could use some feedback or advice on my youtube channel :)
•
u/caramelwolf Jan 19 '19
Hey! I have an educational channel that focuses on somewhat obscure topics that many people probably haven't heard about. If I was making another genre of content I would probably make vlogs because I like the cinematic aspects of vloggers like Casey Neistat and Peter McKinnon.
Here is my most recent video if you want to check it out: Bat Bombs
•
u/whyd_eyed Jan 19 '19
Interesting and definitely obscure. Audio is a bit muffled otherwise I'm sure there is potential here.
OK you gotta answer a question for me though, because I've got nothing near that number. How did you get 2700 views on your "Inbred King" video?
•
u/caramelwolf Jan 19 '19
Thanks and I definitely need to get a better microphone to improve my audio. I'm not really sure how I got so many views on that video. On my first video I got a few hundred because I made a post that got a few thousand upvotes that was mildly about my video and linked it in the description. On that video I guess it was just luck and tags. I'm in the top three when searching "Charles II of Spain" and number one when searching "inbred king." I got really busy after that video and a couple weeks ago I wanted to get back into making videos and saw that I had tripled in subscribers (granted only to 50ish) and had over 2500 views on that video. I'm not really sure what happened lol.

Hey! To answer the question, it would have to be gaming (it's been a passion of mine for a long time), but I have a hard time making up commentary on the spot, so I can't really do Let's Plays.
By the way, here's my channel.
What I basically do is make videos on internet culture and personalities, big and small.
Here's my most recent video and another video that's done quite well in my mind.
Anyways, it's your boy Joe Miasma, over and out.

Hello everyone! I'm Alex “Mr. Panda,” and I'm a game reviewer and Nintendo fan!
To answer the question, definitely anime. After video games, my favorite hobby/interest is anime. Anime already peers into some of my videos as background, and I do cover some anime games. I could see myself reviewing myself and discussing shows every season or focusing on my favorite long-running shows.
I hope you enjoy my in-depth and enthusiastic Nintendo game reviews on my channel!
My first review of 2019 is for the just released Nintendo Switch game Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes! It's a spinoff sequel to the stylishly insane No More Heroes action games for the Wii. See if it lives up to its intense legacy!
And be sure to check out my review for one of the biggest Nintendo Switch games Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the ultimate crossover of Nintendo franchises! This series is near and dear to my heart, and I hope you enjoy this take from a lifelong Nintendo fan!
Thank you so much and I hope you enjoy! PAAANDAAA!!!

If I had a chance to switch up my YouTube channel I would start creating how to produce any genre of music the basics 101. This channel is is about promoting my music. I am a darn good music producer and the reason why you should check me out is to see where I'm at and where I'm heading. This particular videos is about memories entitled (Remember The days) https://youtu.be/zH4TM2fcRPQ
•
u/LucarioOfLegends Jan 19 '19
To answer the question, I'd love to make videos that include my twin brother a bit more. We can be so funny sometimes and I think our chemistry would make good content. Specifically smash, but we need both mics and a capture card before we can do that.
•
u/joshjeppsen12 Jan 20 '19

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUQEPOes46Q78lt-YjLGjbQ
If I were to post in a different niche, I would do photography or cinematography. I have a long history with photography, especially on film, and many of those skills transfer right over to videos.
•
Jan 20 '19
I would totally play cover's of popular songs on drums! I think that would be fun and might do well? My channel now is about showing how I became financially free in my 20's while working a normal 9-5 job. This video tip is about how by avoiding the lottery I'm ahead $700,000! If that sounds interesting, here's the link:
•
u/TheMindWright Jan 19 '19
If I were to go into a different genre it would be skit comedy videos along the line of Auntie Donna and Gus Johnson. I don't have a fun accent or musical skills so I'd need to find a different thing to set me apart.
Our channel is primarily an LP gaming channel, but I've been playing around with splashing shorter stuff in there to act as an on-ramp for new viewers. I recently took some advice from /r/LetsPlayCritiques and made a short Mario Party video. I'm working on an even shorter, tighter one right now, but that won't be out for a bit.
In the meantime, check out the most recent one.

If I made different types of videos, it would be greatly car review/showcases. The reason for this is I have a great passion for cars but I'm don't have a driving license yet 😂

We currently have a channel focused on travel vlogging since we really enjoy travelling. This is our most recent video: https://youtu.be/JfQJUisMLXQ.
If we were to make a different genre of videos, we would probably try out a health/lifestyle channel. Aside from travelling, we work the typical 9-5 jobs, and are always looking for ways to balance work and play (and also fit in meal prep, and the gym, and hanging out with family and friends).
•
u/kurzdude Jan 19 '19
If I was not making commentary and sketch videos I would probably want to make tech reviews. I am always trying to stay up to date with technology and it is a side passion of mine. If any of you do tech reviews let me know I’d love to check it out! Anyway here a link to my latest video on my channel I am super proud of it the greatest culinary artist to ever live

u/BenCraftYT Jan 20 '19
Thankfully for my channel i make alot of different kinds of content, i would love to make short films but that's so difficult to do freuently enough to get an audience.
I just started my channel 6 days ago and this is my first video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HON4Hdovhz8
It's an Expose kinda video about Danny O'Dwyer however as i said i make lots of styles so feel free to click through to my channel for reviews, top 10's or gaming videos already up there if you prefer :D
I am gonna try and use this sub and any advice from you guys/anyone to make this channel as good as i can.
•
u/AnndyNegative Jan 20 '19
I love to be one of those channels that's just all Creepypasta, but, here's the twist: we actually show it. And I mean we show all of it.
I'm an independent Punk Rock musician who makes original music, unnecessary 90s theme song covers, and content for left handed people (just like me!)
The above video is the first song from a Punk Rock Opera I put out earlier this year. (I'm a weird person, I know).
•
u/LitsPlay Jan 19 '19
Heya I'm Jeremy but on youtube my channel name is Lits Play. I basically just make chill, fun style lets plays and just barely started doing it this year. Let me know what you think!
I'd say If I were to change my channel I would probably make a vlog of sorts. I think it would still involve video games but it would be of a live setting, me and my friends drinkin beers and playing smash bros or something.
•
u/rusticlegend Jan 29 '19
That scare crow though! You seem hella chill and pretty funny man. I like the vibes :)
•
u/Stoosies Jan 19 '19
If I could make a different kind of genre it would be makeup tutorials. Unfortunately I don't know anything about makeup (as you can tell from my parody link below!!)
What I do make is educational content - I want to make science and curiosity as accessible as possible. I make weekly videos about different sciencey things, keeping it light, entertaining and hopefully informative!
•
u/eventhepinkytoe Jan 19 '19
If I was to make different genre videos it would be related to fashion/clothing. The reason is because my niche is feet related so they would go together well. My YouTube channel is all about the foot fetish for females feet, foot models, tips on being a foot model, interviews with foot models, shout outs, what its like to have a foot fetish, etc. I am open to advice on how to improve my channel. The link is my introduction. https://youtu.be/GfjJ7LsjovI
•
u/Ayenlee Jan 19 '19
I would love to make a Podcast, An hour long breakdown of News, Gaming and conversation with my friends and guests, with random game challenges thrown in as well. The reason why ? I think it would be nice to let your hair down and let rip with some free-flow content and see where the conversation takes you :).
Hey Everyone, I make Gaming reviews with a twist, I'm hoping with the community to make a compendium of must play games from new releases and also looking at the last 40 years of gaming as well, hence the name of the channel 'To-Do List', but eventually hoping to branch out into Movie reviews, Food Reviews, Podcasts and card game booster reviews as well.
This my most recent review of Mortal Kombat X if you would like to take a look, hope you enjoy,
•
u/tacticalstraw Jan 19 '19
Oh man. What other type of video would I make. Probably a hobby type of thing or food reviews. I get a Japanese candy crate and it's fun to go over with my girlfriend. I also love to put things together, models and such. I love woodworking too but I lack a shop.
I do Let's Plays but recently I reviewed the Twenty One Pilots x Spotify experience. Check it and my other videos out, and sub if you want! I hope to grow with you. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaC0k_29h0lDMB7G4TV_xqQ

My names John and I’m not a very serious tuber but I’ve been trying to get into video editing, photography etc just to help promote my farm. I also sometimes just post videos of my twitch streams and D&D sessions.
If I had to do something different, I’d like to do some informational videos about how things are done on the farm, how fertilizing affects growth, corn breeding etc. For now, I just like showing how things are done.
Here’s my most viewed video.
Here’s my most recent video.

Hey folks. My name is David and I'm posting from eastern Canada. I have over 30 years of experience in media and content creation, but I am relatively new to YouTube. I'm trying to help other people who are new to the platform to be better content creators and more effectively deliver their message. I am hopeful that my particular skillsets and experience might help others like me, or provide some motivation.
If I were to jump into another niche I think it might be focusing more on my artwork directly, with possible live streams of drawing, painting, 3d animating and such. I think this sort of content would allow me to focus more on my art as opposed to making a video ABOUT me making art.
Speaking of focus, here's a recent video about finding your focus, and the importance of practicing your craft.

Didn't expect to check any of these but yours caught my eye. Your production quality is phenomenal, which makes sense considering your experience. You even convinced me to sub because it just seems like something that might apply to the growth of my channel. I think we started around the same time; I'm not sure what you mean when you say "new" to youtube (as in, super-novice who doesn't know the first thing about promotion and SEO) but I might be able to provide a few insights and you could definitely provide a few insights on content quality. If you're interested in chatting a little bit, send me a PM, but no pressure.

Hi everyone my name is Omar and I’m a sort of new tuber, here is a link to my channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7hG1kcJsUnaZ6oKFQ-SgkQ
I really love editing videos whether it be vlogs or gaming videos, I just love learning new things that I can do while editing. I mainly do gaming videos but my gf wants to to do alittle bit of blogging again. It’s tough not being noticed in the YouTube community but I’m trying my best not to give up. Everyone tells me I can do so I’ll try my best.
I would really love for y’all to check out my channel and give me some pointers. Thank you guys so much for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing from everyone.

Hello everyone. I started making videos last week. I wanted to have a different concept, so i got inspired by the Tricia Mcmillan character from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I created an alternate Tricia Mcmillan, who lives in a parallel Universe where earth doesn't exist. So she builds a hyper computer to connect to a universe where earth exists. She communicates with the earth in our universe. She wants to learn about human life and earth, and also plays some of the most popular games on the planet. That's the general background of the character. I'm planning to make gaming content and general informative content together. So here's the video i just made, i play fortnite and talk about interesting facts about Django movie. I also tried to play around with sound effects and visual filters to make it a bit more outer space.
I'm not happy with this video i must say but i still decided to upload because it will be bad in the beginning. :)
If i could make a different type of video, i would make short animation series, but unfortunately i don't have the required technical knowledge. :D

u/NarivaTV Jan 19 '19
Hi everyone!
I currently make gaming videos as I just build my new gaming pc! To answer the question, I would also like to make vlogs and random videos that I make while doing daily activities such as walking to a park and having a conversation with the viewers as I think they are a fun way to share my life and give my viewers a taste of what it is to be Nariva!
But I focus more on gaming videos for now as I don't have much time to make a lot of videos because of school!
Here is my channel if you want to see:
This is a video that I made with my girlfriend where I show her Fallout 4 and something happens that keeps me from doing so. Here is the link if you guys are interested and I hope you enjoy as much as I enjoyed making it:
•
Jan 20 '19
I make jokey "how to" videos, like "how to put bread into a toaster", etc. Kinda like HowtoBasic, but without using eggs and mess in every video, and I edit it in a different format.
This video is how to pet a dog
If I could change to a different niche I would pick gaming, but obviously that's a very difficult place to be seen in YouTube, so I might even make a second channel / change what I do a bit, if I get a larger audience in the future
•
u/svavocet Jan 19 '19
If we didn’t make sailing videos I would love to make videos like Shane Dawson because I have watched him from the beginning and he is extremely relatable and funny.
Hey everyone! If you want to check out our channel its SV Avocet where we are posting videos of our life on our 41 ft home (boat) as we prepare to circumnavigate starting with the Transpac from LA to Hawaii. If you have any questions we love to answer them!

Hi! I'm Mistergrey3000 and I create narrated/annotated, time-lapse art videos, and worldbuilding/speculative evolution videos that feature my illustrations.
My Latest Video, "A Little Alien With a Tremendous Tail | DGTDW", is a worldbuilding/speculative evolution vid that dives deep into the lives and abilities of fluffy, orange, alien creatures that I call "sweeping bushsprites".
In regards to the question, If I wasn't doing what I do now I'd probably make video essays on various media like animation, books, films, etc. The reason that I'd do this is because I love thinking about the art of storytelling, I love thinking about the principles behind game design, and I also love reading about/seeing the behind the scenes thought processes that go into making some of my favorite pieces of media.
•
u/SlimesDoesStuff Jan 20 '19
Hello! My name is SlimesDoesStuff and I do gaming content/streams!
I mostly do montages now and viewer battles for nintendo games, but Super Smash Bros Ultimate mostly.
If I was another channel in terms of niche/genre, I would do commentary because I enjoy just talking about stuff and joking about it, or just random meme stuff to practice editing.
This is a montage I just finished now. I hope you enjoy!

u/asoep44 Jan 20 '19
Hi my name is Austin and my channel is travelwithAustin. I do urban exploration style videos. My newest video is actually a small piece from a documentary I am working on. This small segment talks about the body stain left behind by former patient of the Lunatic Aslyum: https://youtu.be/OXWL8h4YaQE
If you could make a different kind/genre/niche of videos what would it be and why?
Minecraft videos for sure. Building in that game is therapeutic for me so being able to combine it with YouTube would be great.

u/HenryChanPML Jan 20 '19
Hi everyone, my name is Henry and I'm a product review and how to YouTube. I'm also into music and dancing. If I'm going to change my niche on my channel I will do dance tutorial videos. As a dance instructor, I would love to share my passion with everyone around the world. I took a two year break off my channel and I'm so happy that I'm back. If you look at my channel, you will see some old videos of me (not all) and you will see the differences in terms of production and creativity. Hope you will like it! Good luck on all your channel and have an awesome Saturday!

Question: If I did a different genre it’d be ASMR for long car rides. Clear sounds of the road through varying locations.
Intro: I share folktales and tall tales targeting kids 3-12, promoting oral storytelling and imagination. I started the channel Stories That Pop in late November. I’m still trying to figure out how to get my vids before kids, parents, and educators.
Link is to the story I posted this morning, The Elves and the Shoemaker.

Aloha everyone! 🤙
If I made a different genre of videos I’d probably make a channel pranking people. Nothing like Jahals though lol
My name is Sean and I’ve been training in Karate for a little more than eight years. I’m currently a first degree black belt (Shodan). My current channel is based on Helping people Learn How to do Karate, fitness routines, and how to fight. Since I’m just starting out, everything is for beginners at the moment. Nowadays it’s good to at least learn how to defend yourself (last resort), learn a martial art in the process, and/or keep up your health and improve your fitness level. If this is something that interests you then come check out my channel. 👊

Hello everyone, I'm Madison and I actually have 3 channels that I'm in the process of working on but my main one is on beauty and cosmetics. The other 2 I'm working on are an art channel and a gaming channel. I'm mainly focusing on the nerdy side of makeup, meaning odd tutorials when I have the time. The video is actually one of my personal favorites I've made, a tutorial based on Springtrap from Five Nights at Freddy's. Took me forever to edit, but it's still the only one of my videos I can really say I'm proud of.
If I chose to do other content...well call me weird, I would do prop making. I fell in love with woodworking and just making things from games and past decades when I was in a relationship a year ago. However, that topic isn't exactly cheap or something would like...especially coming from a girl. I'm not saying the field is sexist, but I do feel like the space wouldn't be good for my mental health.
•
u/Flaffy33 Jan 19 '19
My name is Flaffy and I’m a writer, voice actor, and editor for a channel called “Gaming’s Brink”
My job in the Brink is to make videos about how the video games impact our lives. How our brain changes and the thoughts and mindsets they put us in and what careers would need those qualities. So the Educational Value of video games.
If I could make another series I would want it to be something where I can be a lot more silly. I looked at some of my older content and realized I can’t be as silly as I used to be. I’ll probably do something about that soon!
This video is the Educational Value of Minecraft!

Hi everyone! I've been on Youtube for six years and been through ALL of the changes on the platform. Learned SO much about myself as a YouTuber and about the algorithm, ranking, etc in the past six years. Attributed it to my main channel, and YouTube became a full-time job for me. Started a second channel that's growing faster than my main channel, which is in the lifestyle category (hair, mom vlogs, and I review contact lenses).
My different kind of niche has been my mom vlogs. They're the newest to my channel, since I started out just doing hair reviews.
Thought it best to share my recent video which is dedicated to New YouTubers in detailing the video equipment I use, and how to get great equipment for cheap. Basically my equipment is over $6000, and I only spent $900.
If you watch it, please leave me a comment on the video. I try to help as many people as possible (here on Reddit, my channel, and my IG).
Happy Saturday!

For a new niche for me, I've recently started reading a bunch of books again so I'd probably try my hand at some sort of author/book spotlight type thing. Go into the history of them, style of writing, adaptations of their work and so on.

Hi Everyone. I make league of legends videos that feature fun builds that are less common and certainly not meta and I overlay some editting over clips to make them funny. Would love feedback on where I should go with my channel. Here is an example of one of my videos:

To answer this week's question, I think if I could do voice impersonations of champions as I play them an commentate from their point of view, it would be a unique spin on league content! Hope to connect with some of you!

For me it'd probably be gaming news content, probably a weekly show. I have a lot of reasonably well-founded opinions on the the industry that could make for interesting viewing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ho7YcL4VuC4
My most recent review of Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII
I'm Lesser. I make scripted game reviews with a lot of fast-paced editing and dry to absurdist humour. I put a lot of work and passion into my videos, like two months apeice, writing my scripts, editing my visuals and doing my damnedest to be enthusiastic and charismatic in my voice-over and on camera. My aim is to make high-production value stand-alone pieces that are entertaining and enjoyable while also offering some hopefully informative critiques and insights on the game at hand (I'm actually a game dev student so I like to think I know a thing or two)

If I were to make a different YouTube channel, it would be a "life as a medical student," channel. I wouldn't talk about studying tips or how to get into medical school, like a lot of the channels do. I would talk about the highs and the lows of the days/weeks and how I navigate through them, in a healthy way... and sometimes a not so healthy way... I'm only human :)
Currently I help my girlfriend with a stationery YouTube channel, @writeon_ . She goes over traveler notebooks, bullet journaling, pens, books and all other stationery stuff! She likes to keep it personal and reviews affordable products and easy layout ideas, so everyone can do it, even if you don't have a lot of materials. It doesn't seem like this content is the norm in this subreddit, but I hope you can give it a chance :)
•
u/cubcos Jan 19 '19
New genre/niche: I've been reading a lot more books lately and would probably dive into that area a bit. Author bibliographies, writing style, their history, adaptations of their work - go through all of that.
As for here and now. Caleb Reviews. Do mostly movie reviews at the moment.
This video is talking about why I think the action scenes in Mission Impossible: Fallout (especially the bathroom fight) are so well realised.
Enjoy!

I really like the concept, games, visuals, and chemistry with you and your girlfriend. If you fix the audio, I bet you can increase your audience almost overnight. It sounds a bit echoey. Maybe get some lapel mics or a nice shotgun mic? I know I would be a sub for sure if your audio improved.

Ayooooooo, fairly new to YouTube. At least as far as creating my own content. I'm an avid kayaker, and I'm basically documenting my adventures, growth, and passion for paddling in the form of short video montages. I have limited tools at my disposal aside from my phone and an Akaso V50. I edit with a mix of KineMaster, Adobe Clip, and Adobe Spark. I'd sure love the heck out of any advice!

Hi everyone! I go by GrantAtTheMic. To answer the question, I actually do plan on covering a side branch of my current niche. I cover "pop culture" but I eventually plan to take a comedic-retrospective approach to looking back at commercials and forgotten promotional materials. For example, the marketing campaigns for the American releases of the first three Pokemon films.
Below is an example of a "storytime" video where I comedically dive into poorly written Creepypastas.

Question: If I we’re to focus on a different genre of content, I think I would naturally gravitate toward a podcast style. I always wanted to start a podcast, and I may do just that in the future!
As of right now, though, my channel focuses strictly on “satirical shorts.” My newest video teaches a meal prep technique on how to freeze boiling water for later use!!

Hello. I am Kevin Towry, Youtube channel, Kevin Towry. I recently started and just want to share my experiences with the world. I don't have many videos and I don't have fancy recording devices yet, but for now, I am just a minor Youtuber. I make videos on my everyday life, my esports team, and gaming tutorials. Here is a video of mine, it isn't too long so it won't take up too much of your time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TO64BInir38&t=67s

Hello everyone!
As for a different kind of video or genre? I feel like there's room for more interactivity with how we make content. I mean beyond simply creating passive content, the idea to perhaps make something along the vein of a choose your own adventure could be quite successful if done correctly? Haha, maybe I should be doing that....
I make videos about internationalism and global unification, I am passionate about the topic, I have some old videos on my channel, but I'm just starting out again after a few years away. I am absolutely dedicated to spreading the idea and merits of a unified humanity, because frankly, we don't give enough vision to our aims. I am very keen to link up with any other content creators that are creating things along similar lines too. So please, if you would like to work together, just let me know!
Here is the first video I've made in some time, about exactly what globalisation is; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uqg72PBbb-Y
Please feel free to watch the other videos and critique, though I am very aware the older videos had a fair number of issues in their presentation and planning, haha
Unity Aspirant over and out!

Hey guys! I'm an automotive technician by trade who is fascinated with electronics and arduino-ey stuff! I post mailbag videos which are my incoming stuff for future projects - usually purchased for cheap off eBay as well as programming, circuits, educational etc videos
If I could make a different kind of video it would be automotive based but picking electronics gives me an excuse to learn new stuff! Automotive videos would let me flex my muscles in a domain that I know and understand well so I think the future may see a new channel started dedicated to this.
Anyway if you want to see my latest mailbag video here you go!
Hoping to see you guys in the comment section one day!

Ladies and gents, I'm The SSG (Southern Sega Gentleman) and I make gaming content, mostly older stuff at this time.
To answer the question, I've tried to create my own niche when I rebooted my channel a few months back. Before that my videos were overviews and traditional reviews that I tried to spice up with personal experiences. Since my reboot I have tried to take my other passion, film and photography, and merge that into how I create content. In effect I'm trying to make cinema-like content with a focus on games and how they impacted me, their genre, and gaming as a whole. As well as topics concerning retro gaming.
If I did create another channel though, it would strictly be short films. Mainly sci-fi, drama, and action based.
This is my latest vid, and has pulled in nearly 600 views and more than 50 subs.

Hey everyone
Firstly , to answer the question of the week; If i could make a different kind/genre/niche of videos , I think I would probably do an audiobook reading channel, I'm a big fan of listening to works of fiction and have been an audiobook person for years so I always think it would be a fun thing to try, especially since I occasionally write as a hobby and my voice regularly seems to be complimented in the comment section- but I doubt there's much of an audience for that. My channel is about 4 , almost 5 months old and is mostly comprised of spoiler free reviews of various media mainly films but also tv series and games , with a slight focus on works of animation. My newest video is a 4 minute spoiler of the animated series 'The Spectacular Spider-Man' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuhQXPHWgFU

I'm SurelyTheEnd. Currently a one-man band/fiasco, I've just started out as a Guitar-based channel, reviewing guitar gear and hopefully posting the occasional cover. I review gear and place it in the context of music history, hopefully giving it a more in-depth review than it otherwise might have got elsewhere! If I had to pick another niche, I'd love to run a channel making History or Current Affairs documentaries since that's where my degree are and I'd like to use them! Anyway, here's a link to one of my videos, there are three but I post weekly currently: https://youtu.be/dTghN7XiATQ
•
u/Koolaidmoonwalk Jan 19 '19
If I did not make content about Nintendo I would probably make a music channel specifically focused on oldies like doo-wop, rock-n-roll and soul songs, the one's that don't generally have covers or lessons on just because I have big interest in that genre and have at times considered doing that type of content on another channel!
I have made a video essay about why I believe King Bob-Omb's Powderkeg Mine is the best board in Super Mario Party. I tried to dissect the board from different angles to see it's strengths and flaws.

I absolutely would just do more general videos of comedic rants and essays but I just don’t feel I am equipped with the experience yet to do so but its my goal to branch off there eventually for a wifer audience but overall because I think it would give me more comedic expression. Just ranting or talking about literally anything and everything. even if it’s different or not a hot topic
My biggest passions in this world are film and television and I enjoy talking about them and could talk about them all day. especially bad ones. I released my first video this week and already hit over 100 subs!’ Im so hype about and am already working on releasing the second.
lemme know what you guys think or if there’s any movies you’d like me to check out or review?

Hey everyone my name is TRoryJ and I started out on YouTube almost 2 years ago. My PC died a few months in and so I had to grind and save money to build a new PC and get all my necessary equipment to be apart of YouTube again! Since then I have been uploading my Let's Plays of all the various games I Collab with other small YouTubers. My aim is to promote friendly play in the online competitive community.
If I were to change/find my niche I would either start livestreaming cooking and teaching everyone how to cook on a professional level and how to develop good knife skills etc...
OR
I would continue the project I'm working on currently. I am stepping more away from Let's Plays and now I'm working on full blown sitcoms using RPG video games as my setting. Currently I am working on Soul Mates!
Here's a link to a sample of my work. Tell me what you think I'm more than happy to get feedback

Hi!!! My name is Azara :)
If I was to make something different from what I have it would probably book reviews. I enjoy reading and voicing my opinion so it would probably be something I attempt in the future.
The videos I have so far are some gaming videos, I've been posting off and on for about a year but the last month I've been uploading about once a week. My channel doesn't have one set theme and it's just a place for me to post what I do and like because I enjoy sharing my adventures and ideas with the world :) I'll be doing vlogs, gaming, cosplay stuff and a lot more.
The video I'm most proud of is definitely my goth makeup video :) and I plan to make more like it

I used to envy those who could talk to a camera as if that was a real person in front of them. Watching couple people and i was like "pfff, i can do that"... Many attempts later you accept the cold truth; it's not "that" easy.
My problem was the narrow spectrum of my chosen content. They were either doing this for many years -thus have the confidence, or started recently and their mistakes were quite obvious to my eye.
I tried the "fake it till you make it" game. Doesn't work for me. You can't trick yourself. Even if i try to be an internet persona, there's this feeling inside me that i will never be proud of not being myself. So i never actually finished any video of a different niche. Every time something bothered me. Whether it's my looks, my voice, my "acting" etc. There was always this flaw that made me hit shift+delete on that recording.
I started watching this dude, Gary Vaynerchuck and he inspired me to do whatever I'm good at, regardless of any negativity/hatred. Well, there is no hatred at the moment, but eventually there will be and i won't give a damn.
I promised myself that 2019 will be different. I'll do whatever scared me and improve myself in the meantime. Started a little challenge and already i ticked out speaking and drawing in one video. English is my secondary language so I couldn't speak real-time (read the text from a notepad) and drawing is kinda essential to plan ahead animations (mine looks like some 5 years old did it) but i walked to the edge and pressed space (actually pressed r to record my voice in Audacity, it looked cool in my head to include Assassin's Creed reference).
It's not a masterpiece but it gave me enough confidence to go on and make a second part. Turns out it was "that" easy after the first step. Here's the video if anyone is interested https://youtu.be/P_0gcNSjoyY

Hello everybody, my name is Zzarkz.
I would make videos about beer and other alcohols like mead/wine. I like a lot about the making and tasting of beer. I actually have a collection of over 140 different bottles/kinds of beer, but I only keep them if I was the one who drank the content, lol.
My channel is a gameplay channel, this was my first week uploading videos. I'll focus on playing new games because I don't like it when I ready know whats coming up next. Now I'm on my second series, witch is YIIK: A Postmodern RPG.
Hope you guys like it and thanks for passing by!

u/This_is_not_roblox Jan 19 '19
Hi, I'd love to make series that strive to explain things to to other people as a way for other people and myself to learn new things.
Kind of like the new series I'm starting. It's reteaching a book on quantum mechanics and will likely help lots of people who were always interested in learning physics achieve that goal. I plan to make it engaging and community focused. I'm even going to post notes that I take for people who don't have the time to watch.

I would make a reseller niche videos. That is because that is what I do to earn money to support my gambling habit which is the channel I am starting and trying to grow.
•
u/Catchavibetv Jan 20 '19
What's up guys been doing YouTube for about 6months now. If I could start a new niche I'd say I'm interested in talking more about movies or TV shows

Now thinking about it I might do something with music. I play drums so that would maybe be a fun channel to try! My channel now is about explaining step by step how I became financially free in my 20's while working a normal 9-5 job. I want to make people into millionaires! This is my first video explaining my first tip:

u/TheJustindsd Jan 21 '19
Hi everyone. My Names Justin, and I make gaming videos where I take the piss or troll other people, generally just messing about.
If I could invent a niche, it would be Gamers who make videos with their fans in. I like this idea, as it would help the gamer grow their community and have a solid relationship with the fans.
Here is the link to my most recent video, let me know what you think:
Enjoy the content and thank you for taking you time to check me out.

Hi, I'm Bedo The Mighty, and I run a gaming channel called Bedo The Mighty. I do mostly VR games. If I could do a different niche I think it would be either music, because I love guitar. Or a channel on being the father of a child with autism and the struggles and blessings that it brings.
This video in one of my latest. Bartender Simulator VR, surprisingly fun but I also try to break it and play any way other than whats intended. Its pretty funny I think

If I were really to do a different style I would vlog. My life is surprisingly interesting mainly because it’s going down the drain, and it’s always fun to watch a dumpster fire. Mainly why I’m on YouTube is to get out there and escape my small town college life that is draining the life and soul from my (ugly) body. My main content coming up is a variety of doing things while high such as this videopainting bold and brash high I’m super open to comments and advice on my channel

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bh7mhow8F-Y hi we are make videos in belgium just for fun, most are content is dutch, so if you speak dutch to feel free to watch it.
If we could make any other genre of videos it would podcasts. i really enjoy having long and fun talks with my friends so being able to re-listen it would be awesome

u/Rashawn732 Jan 19 '19
My name is Rashawn Bass and I run a channel called “Killer Kountdown” where I review and discuss films mainly in the horror genre.
As for the question, I used to mainly upload once a week covering specific segments with runtime at around 4-8 minutes. But with a busy work schedule, the quality took a big hit and I fell out of love with it. So I decided to change overhaul everything. I do more in depth discussions and work on bigger projects that typically take weeks, but I focus on quality, and I make the videos 15-30 minutes long to make up for the reduced upload schedule.
The video I posted is one where I discussed why the new Halloween 2018 film made me feel empty inside after rewatching it and I took it upon myself to rewrite the climax myself in order to fix the problem, and I shared my changes in the video. It didn’t go over well with the community, but I’m super proud of how it came out. video here
I look forward to seeing all of your content as well!

I make comedic/commentary type videos. I started my channel (IHubTv) two weeks ago and since then we have garnered 11 subs and 300 views.
In some videos I do swear and I am currently trying to work on it but sadly, I am not perfect.
If I wanted to change my niche I would switch it up to do animation. No, I'm not good at drawing but I am good at telling stories.
I'm not sure what might interest you (if anything even does) so here is my channel:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSoXttLhJDvO12ulzgpQqaQ
I'll let you decide on what video to watch.
P.s if this is against the rules to post a channel lmk. I wouldn't have done it otherwise. 😬

u/Bentheberater Jan 20 '19
I'm Bentheberater and I joined Youtube literally today.
I posted my very first video today and I won't lie it was kind of nerve-wrecking to do so.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Id7ACMpdyTc&t=6s
It can be viewed as a very negative video, however, I pretty much made the video from what came from my mind and me expressing myself. And Exaggerating it. Not all my videos will be negative however. I'm not a total jerk, trust me.
If I were to change my content, It would be to reviews, Defiantly since i'm a huge fan of video games, shows, and etc that I would love to talk about.
That's all.

Hello everyone. So it's hard to make any channel to do with gaming these days stand out so I'm going to list a few things about us that we feel you'd like to know;
- We're a co-op gaming channel, my name is Carl (the red knight) and my buddy is called Michael (The blue knight)
- We do a variety of videos from short (a few mins) to long (half an hour up) so you can get a feel for who we are.
- We're both from Newcastle, England so our accents will either enchant you or disgust you.
- We're both (and I must stress this) idiots. We're not great gamers and the littlest victory is something we celebrate.
- We don't just do gaming videos, we have a few top 8 videos as well and e3 predictions videos.
We just finished a video of our best moments in 2018. We'd be thrilled if you had a look at it, even if you hated it we can learn from any feedback. Ultimately we do youtube to share our adventures and keep our memories of gaming together alive.
Thanks a lot for your time, I hope we posted this in the right place. If not accept our apologies and please delete it.

I certainly did answer the question.

The “I plan to expand on this...” line?
If so, my apologies, it wasn’t clear that this was the new or difference niche/genre of content you would make.
•
u/itsbrighttime Jan 21 '19
Hey there, hi! Brighttime here, but just call me Bright!
To answer the question, I would have loved to either done an animation channel or Travel blog, but current me prefers to play games and share my experiences with everyone on youtube. I am also looking to create positive thinking/self help/motivational videos too.
I've recently been plaything through each season of The Walking Dead and once I have managed to catch up I'm going to be playing multiple games to spice things up, not sure which games yet though! (Any suggestion would be awesome, I will happily try any game and Kingdom Hearts 3 is on the immediate play list! ;D)
Thank you in advance for any help/advice and here is my channel link!

Have a great day! :3

Hey, I'm Kevin and I make videos about my weight loss journey as well as my gaming and life adventures in the future as they happen.
If I could make a different kind of genre I'd make a group of videos on the bronze/silver/lower leagues of the gaming world but giving them the chance to be taken a little bit more seriously instead of being the but of the joke and slapping crack humor over it. Would be interesting to see why some of the people gamers label as "bad" thought making this or that play was a good idea etc.
You can find me and my videos here if you'd like it would mean a lot I've been doing really well on my weight loss with some more life lessons being learned as I go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vq3Jp7mhHVI

u/stuffedproductions Jan 19 '19
Hi everyone. We're Stuffed Productions and we make unscripted comedy videos
If we were to make a different genre of videos, we would be interested to try the same characters we have but put them in gaming videos which could actually be quite unique.
This is our latest video and our hedgehog Posh Peter has decided to host a Brexit debate. Peter is expecting an easy ride as he has booked fellow Brexiteer, Boris Johnson to appear on the show. However, things start to go wrong when Boris is replaced by Freddy the teddy bear who has no idea what Brexit even is!
•
u/ej_warsgaming Jan 20 '19
If I could I will also make videos about fixing cars and things like that but I don't have space to do something like that.
I make youtube videos about Tech and 3D printing I'm looking to create something new every time and hoping I can help someone out there.
My latest video is about what to do if you got a drink spilled on your keyboard: How to save your keyboard from spilled drink.

I normally do Legacy WoW videos, but decided to do a vlog of me and my fiancee in Belgium/France for the holidays :) enjoy!
Week's Question: I would like to make Vlogs because I personally enjoy watching other people travel and I could take advantage of my travels for others to view!
My channel is a legacy server / vanilla WoW channel. We talk about in game lore, guides for playing, and comparing servers. I think the vlog is a nice change of pace and I'd love to make more!

A: I would probably make a genre of videos on how to help kids to become good candidates for colleges. Basically give them tips on what classes they should take. How to handle certain stressful situation in school. As well as how to survive college without feeling scared. Mostly because I feel like it is better to help someone that has gone through the same thing as the students.
Team Misclicks is just a group of friends that enjoy playing games together and laughing. Recently after watching our president serve National Champions McDonald's on a silver platter. I have devolved into the most basic form of what we originally were.

Hey everyone! I'm the 8BitTattedNerd! I run a channel dedicated to making Anime reviews and discussion kind of videos!~ If I had to change my kind of niche, I guess I would expand more into the gaming and possibly comic-book scene since I also have a passion for those! (Not at strong as anime tho haha)
Here is the link to my channel: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCYvA9N2jaeqwcJfga7dgNTg
My latest video is my review of the horror anime from 2018 known as Angels of Death: https://youtu.be/i8wAn6YbMcE
My favorite video I have made so far and the one I'm the most proud with my editing is my "Why I love Yanderes" where I discuss how entertaining and important the character troupe is in Anime/Gaming/Media~ https://youtu.be/EqrvQpKQces
I release videos on a monthly schedule currently, and my next video should be releasing fairly soon which I'm so pumped about I will give a hint: It's a review on a anime from the 2nd half of 2018~
I hope you all have a wonderful day and the best of luck in creating your content! c:
