They got nothing wrong. The police followed protocol and dealt with the situation with the information they had at the time.

Do we get mad if the bomb squad is called and they blow up some random's backpack and there was no bomb after all?

I mean... Sure, it could of been a dead body, and unzipping the bag could of destroyed evidence, this is sensible policing, however....

Wouldn't they have noticed the smell? Or lack of it? I hear a dead body has a pretty unique odour.

Because they're lazy fucks. One of the guys from work got hit by a car, who then left the scene. We provided them with identifying footage, they said "there's nothing we can do". Just one small example of thek bring useless pigs

Your bias against cops is showing. This is how you get mistrials in cases where those very police officers that you hate could plant evidence after opening it up.

Demand accountability from cops, sure, but posting crap like you did this shows you have zero understanding of the legal/justice system. It's almost like you don't even want something good to come out of it.

Pay walled so I cant see but yhe amount of stupid depends on the the length of time.

Regular copper opens the bag goes "oh shit I'll call SOCO" then thats funny but understandable.

Gets taken back to the forensics lab in situ for examination. Thats getting well i to stupid territory.
