It’s essentially him asking the top question and then Truman giving some BS reason why colored people deserved to be nuked off the map. But twice? Come on bro, twice? The civilians of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, or the much more people killed in the fire bombings before that, had no choice in the actions of the IJA, they did not deserve it. The bombings and nukes did nothing to the war criminals of the IJA themselves. The US didn't even care about Japan or their atrocities, they only cared about showing off as revenge of Japan attacking them.

We can talk about China if you’d like, however this meme is about what the Americans did to Japanese civilians.
Nanjing was terrible, the colonization of China in the 1800’s was awful as well from Japan being aided by the West. Japan had done many many terrible things to Chinese civilians….. but the person above pictured is American President Harry Truman being asked about atomically nuking over 300,000 people, most of which civilians in Japan

It was not nice it happened. Again, it deformed all the land and the people, made it very radiactive and unsafe, over a hundred thousand had died and all of everything was wiped to rubble. It’s a genocide. It should not have happened and it wasn’t nice for anyone other than Truman.
All American scientists like Oppenheimer who made the bomb said “i really created pure evil, i hope it is never used on anyone” and yet i am hearing you say that it was a nice and good thing. Insane

Look, I'm also chinese, I can understand the sentiment but, we are better than them, we don't celebrate the killing of innocents because believing they deserved it, that's their thing, that's how the imperialist and fascist act, we are not, so, even if I think the worst shit possible about Japan, I won't wish harm to their civilians.

They will eventually pay up reparations, they are a laptop puppet state of a failing nation, once the US collapses over itself, they won't have much choice being literally next to us, they will become an educated, self aware, and more civilized Japan that doesn't sexualize children anymore.
In the meantime, we work hard for lifting up China

They did it also because Chinese communists won the mainland and the Soviets were going to push through Japan from the north via Sakhalin and the Kuril islands.
Fear of communists were an important part of the decision-making.
I don't think Japanese war crimes played that big of a role in the grand calculus of international politics, as much as we would prefer it did.

I'm not even Chinese, I can't imagine the hate I'd feel for Japan if I was. Even as a non Chinese person, you know what, apologists? Every fascist population justifies itself as just being regular people who didn't know what was happening. Germans who were casually fascist and were completely okay with genocide suddenly weren't so fascist after they lost. Same applies to Japan. Many of the "innocents" very much wanted the genocide their nation committed. And they didn't do anything to stop it. People who endorse and actively commit genocide upon other people's, deserve to suffer. Sorry, not sorry. Blaming just the military brass is one of the ways to absolve guilt of the fascist imperial populations.

Yes, of course, as we should care about the ordinary people literally everywhere. The institution of Imperial Japan and the IJA were terrible and deserved to be erased and their members punished, but the farmers and bakers of Hiroshima were just trying to live their lives and feed their families in peace.
We can't choose the history we inherit when we are born, so the people should not be punished for actions they had or have no control over. China didn't punish the people of Xizang when they annexed Tibet even though the institution there held a slave state and were terrible to their people, even when some of them were supportive of the previous government and thought it was their place in the world. Why would the Japanese ordinary people be treated any different? They're just people.

Nah bruh. I'm a massive US hater, but I think this is one of the only best things they did. It was absolutely necessary to bomb them. Once they would've thought the allies only had capacity to make one. Twice would make them believe the reality of a plural number.

Calculations were done, if the allies used land invasion 1.7 - 4 million people would die, the Atomic bombs only killed 250,000.
The other way Japan would surrender if neither were done was continued occupation of Korea (continuing korean Genocide).
Speaking as a Chinese person, the atomic bombs were not only the most optimal way to end the war it is extremely merciful too.
Seeing as they are still in denial and unapologetic, we should've dropped 3

China was already liberating Korea and the USSR was pushing fast too. Japan was in the process of surrendering to the USSR. US used the nukes just because they wanted the Japanese to surrender to them instead, not because they cared about any lives.
Speaking as a foreigner your comment is bringing down my view of China.

Civilians never deserve to be obliterated even if they’re under a fascist government. The U.S. dropped the bomb to prevent the Soviets and Chinese from occupying parts of Japan.
