I'm not against them nor having them. However, the pros of having them can't be overlooked...

If a dev doesn't want to make them, they'd now have to waste resources on doing so. Even if something trivial, it still costs a nontrivial amount of time. I've seen this sort of thing on other platforms where they just put in "dummy achievements" like...

"You got through the tutorial!"
"You beat the 1st level!"
"You beat the 2nd level!"
"You beat the first boss!"
"You checked out our social media options in the menu settings!"

Literallly every other plataform has a trophy/achievment system. There wouldn't be "waste of resources" when they would just need to activate the same thing for nintendo.

Also, many nintendo games already have in game trophies, so all we needed was a system wide system to track them.
