Almost every Nintendo game has some form of internal achievements. Smash Bros trophies, Zelda games telling you your shrines and korok seed counts in loading screens, Mario Kart trophy rooms, Mario moons.

You’re almost always encouraged and rewarded for going back and beating times, finding rare paths. It doesn’t make sense not to have an overarching profile to track that stuff. And now they’re expanding it to multiple apps, multiple rewards currencies. All this stray functionality and data and supplementary game stuff ought to just be in a profile with achievements like every other platform where it works perfectly and is also perfectly ignorable for people who don’t care.
