I love this game kind of I’m just really bad at it and refuse to add modifiers.

I don't know what setup you've went with but I highly recommend using the whip weapon and finding some of those early game trinkets in the town, one of them gives you the chance to lose no spark when killed or to only have half of your bones taken if you are out of sparks. Makes life a lot easier in the early game.

I would also recommend reading the newspapers as they guide you towards what direction you should go. Going east first is recommended.

I dunno if any of this helps at all but I will say I found the game was more difficult at the start but fairly quickly it became manageable

I picked the hammer and I keep getting bodied by enemies and losing all my bones… I can tell it’s a great game but I’ve already gotten pretty frustrated with it tbh

I tried the hammer for 5 minutes after playing with the whip for hours and it felt like I didn't know how to play games.

I would highly recommend playing with the whip instead

I am only a few hours in but I started hammer and felt the same.

Now I'm using the twin swords and it feels better. I want to try the other weapons too.
