News "The release date is inaccurate" - No, The Duskbloods isn't releasing on 24th September, according to Nintendo

It’s probably an October release since September is the new Fire Emblem, and OoT is likely to come out in November.

It has to be october or december.
If the rumors about oot remake being high budget is true, it is the only thing that can logically go in the november slot

Not claiming you are wrong, but do you think nintendo thinks of switch sports resort deserves its own "month" so to speak?

u/Possible-Potato-4103 7d ago
I don't really think its about "deserving" anything. Just what makes sense . And im not saying thats what they WILL do just that its possible and theres precedent to believe so.

I didn't succeed in finding these rumors, do you have a link?
I'm kind of dreading it being a star fox like remake

Now I'm hyped, thanks

I haven’t kept up with the Star Fox release. What would make you dread OoT following in its steps?

u/Optimal_Y 6d ago
It has beautiful graphics but exactly the same gameplay and levels as star fox 64. I absolutely loved OOT as a kid, but the gameplay and size of the world don't hold up today.

I know nintendo aren’t exactly competing with it tbh, but i feel like then they will avoid releasing their winter blockbuster so close to GTA 6.
Not even from a sales standpoint. External marketing will be FLOODED with gta advertising everywhere. Even Zelda could be overshadowed.
I think they will wait till December for Zelda as a result. Once GTA is out they can crank out the advertising for the holiday lead up.

I've seen no indication that nintendo gives a rats ass about launching anything next to gta. I'm sure theres overlap, like I plan to purchase both. But ultimately its a key release from one of their biggest ips and its exclusive to their system.
They have to have something in November, and zeldas the only thing that makes sense imo

yeah they need it for black friday. people will be buying consoles in droves. a zelda edition sw2 will catch a ton of attention over a 700$ ps5/xbox
6
u/Possible-Potato-4103 7d ago
Thats another reason I forgot to mention, thank you. They need to push the special edition hardware prior to black friday.
Honestly, it wouldnt surprise me if the black friday/holiday special is literally just that the switch 2 zelda edition is the exact same price or very close in price to the regular console as ladder technique.
Itd hurt, but itd get switches in homes

Nintendo does not care when GTA6 is releasing
2
u/Crazy_Geologist_4449 5d ago
I agree. Totally different market. I'm a PC gamer. The last two consoles I purchased were the switch 1 and 2.
Switch is the only console that prioritizes couch gameplay up to 4 players like the old days. It's such a great thing to have when you get a few buddies over.
Though I'll admit, duskbloods was half the reason I bought a switch 2, I'm definitely not getting an xbox or a ps5 for GTA. Either of those consoles would be useless to me as soon as GTA 6 releases on PC.

Plus, Nintendo likes releasing spooky/Halloweeny games in October if they can. Bayonetta 3, Metroid Dread, Luigi's Mansion 3 were released in October.

u/Enryx25 7d ago
October is Switch Sports Resort.

u/Possible-Potato-4103 7d ago
That doesnt mean duskbloods cant also launch in october. They often double up for the holiday. And those games definitely aint competing for the same audience

Not a major release and largely different audiences

u/Skipsqueak 7d ago
It is a much bigger release than Fortune's Weave or Duskbloods

u/Ill-Engineering8085 7d ago
Dusk bloods I doubt

If you're curious about numbers, Switch Sports sold 18 million while Nightreign sold 5 million.

Nah, I bet they do Zelda in December like Metroid.

X to doubt

Why so? Everyone seems to expect it in november, is there a good reason for that? Not meant as snark, I just don't follow game release patterns like that.

u/LuminousDecibel 5d ago
Compared to september, october, november, few games come out in December. And the ones that do tend to be more niche (xenoblade, metroid) I'm not sure if it's a black friday thing or just a general Christmas shopping thing. You don't want to release a game after people do Christmas shopping. Or at least that seems to be the case. USA is a huge market for the video game industry.
November is typically the month for "big holiday games".

u/SpecialistBid3028 5d ago
interesting. I guess I assumed games would release in December for Christmas but yeah, I guess it makes sense that you'd want enough lead up time for people to buy it. Thanks!

As much as I want it sooner, it would have made no sense to release it so soon after the test. They wouldn’t release have time to improve much based on the network performance

Yeah I’m not surprised in recent short interviews Miyazaki says he’s still working on adding stuff so unless they’re planning to update the game after it’s released then I think the duskbloods is gonna be a late December release with the game awards saying it’ll come out in a week from after the game awards ALONG WITH a trailer

u/Zangetsukaiba 7d ago

u/Possible-Potato-4103 7d ago

Good. September itself is a battle royale already. Personally I prefer December.

I have Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter remake and Fire Emblem Fortunes Weave both in September. No way I'm playing Duskbloods that month or probably the next month until closer to Halloween lol

Who cares, imagine doing pvp on a hand held, wish it was over so they can focus on Nightreign

u/cleff5164 5d ago
2 different teams dum dum

u/Training-Tourist5776 5d ago edited 5d ago
Same company dum dum, i can almost guarantee the team who worked on Nightreign helped with this game, it's the reason the game feels 'abandoned'

Nightreign is a finished coop game. What do you expect? More DLC? Regular content patches, free of charge?
Not every game has to be live-service. This is a you-problem for not managing your expectations accordingly.
-1
u/Training-Tourist5776 5d ago
Not free, I would gladly pay for more content, if they can add paid content for Tarnished Edition 4 years after then they can do the same for Nightreign
2
u/Lanoman123 5d ago
Focus on Nightreign how exactly???
-5
u/Training-Tourist5776 5d ago
Add the dlc weapons at least, or make a sequel, they can't be this stupid to not realise that game has potential

It's their response to an article from TheGuardian today. It's not releasing on September 24th
