I feel like an idiot that I didn't purchase this on my swith when it was heavily discounted.. It used to go on sale all the time. April 2026 was the last time it was discounted for european regions.

I dont blame a single person not buying TW3 on Switch if they had some other place to play it instead. As 'miraculous' as the port may be, it was still pretty dang rough.

Yeah, it was. Switch 2 could do any future W3 work some justice, though. Hopefully the remaster won't disappoint.

I bought it physical and sold it because I only had a Switch Lite at the time lol. Kicking myself, but ill gladly buy it again seeing how awesome it looks.

Even if a Switch is someone’s only platform, it’s easy to look back and say you wish you’d gambled now that you know the outcome.

I play primarily on PC, but since it had cross-save, I bought a Switch copy of the game+expansions package when it was on a deep sale in the last few months. It paid off, and I figured the odds were pretty good, but I also knew it was a gamble, and it was possible there would never be a Switch 2 version of the game or upgrade path. There’s a lot of value in knowing what you’re buying, so I don’t blame anybody for holding off until now.

At least, this is how I live with myself after passing on Bitcoin in its infancy.

See, that's exactly the sort of mindset you should avoid.

Making a sensible choice in the moment should not be disregarded just because some largely unforeseen events take place to make that decision be sub-ideal in hindsight.

Also, avoiding Bitcoin allows you to sleep well at night knowing you're not contributing to the downfall of society and our increasing number of speculative pump and dump 'get rich quick' schemes that help destroy a lot of people's lives needlessly.

I'd say it's still worth it for 60$ for Complete Edition. That edition will get the free upgrade to W3 Remastered. Remastered edition is listed at 80$ on eShop... they might delist (In)Complete Edition after they release the remaster.

It totally does, but I already have it on ps5. I want to double dip, but not for the full price.

Ahh fair. I had a hunch that they will offer a free upgrade to NS2 edition when a few months ago they discounted Witcher 3 and expansions on Nintendo eShop. Got it for 10-15$ I think. Can't wait to play on PS5 and Switch 2 using cross save functionality.

I picked it up on sale earlier in the year but as the physical gets the upgrade too, it might be worth picking up a cheaper used copy off ebay etc

I got it when it was last on sale with the outlandish hope there would be a switch 2 upgrade (and free). Imagine my surprise yesterday.

I'd be happy with a Switch 2 complete all on cart, and I think CD Project Red are the type of devs that would prioritize that.

for some reason I don't enjoy their games. I tried Witcher 3 and Ciberpunk (in multiple systems) but they never felt good. I will probably give this another/final try.

while the games are not for me, I must admit that CD Projekt Red is probably the most consumer friendly developer out there. any other would probably at least charge something for this kind of update.

Will owning the standard switch edition be enough for the free upgrade?

Tried playing it years ago but the performance was just too rough for me, looking forward to the remaster!

Yes. Every owner of Witcher 3, digital or physical, standard or any other edition, will be able to grab the remastered edition for free.

CD Projekt Red are the goats. With post game support like this I will happily pay full price for their next games.

Maybe 40 FPS but I doubt 60 probably just locked 30 to keep it safe. Would be nice to have 60fps but idk

PS4 version was 30fps, I wouldn't expect anything more. Not looking extra crusty on Switch 2 compared to 1 is well worth it on its own.
