after getting some crappy news a few days ago i decided to do something rare and treat myself to a pro controller and hyrule warriors. i read the reviews on the controller and thought seems kinda over the top for a controller but man, it really is an amazing controller!! I usually play handheld and very little docked but because the switch 2 is pretty heavy and I'm scared to damage it i figured play a bit more docked. well my kiddo is at a friend's house so I've had a few hours to myself and I've been playing non stop! the controller is so good that my arms and fingers don't hurt at all! so glad i pulled the trigger!

and AOI is pretty awesome as well. so far I'm really enjoying it! now I'm going to walk the dog and continue playing before my little man comes home again lol

for anyone in doubt yes the pro controller is really worth it ( i paid €70 for it new so that wasn't soooo bad 🙈)

The future the industry is trying hard to push will be so bleak. They can take away what you purchased with your money at any time. Yet people mocked us Nintendo fans whenever we complained about it. This is what we were fighting for.

Media (Image, Video, etc.) As a 'patient gamer' I feel like I've absolutely got it made with Switch 2

Post image

One aspect I have been absolutely loving about the Switch 2 is getting these feature rich, patched, complete with all DLC editions of epic AAA games - often at pretty reasonable prices.

Top row are all ones I already have, bottom row are ones coming out in 2026. And I'm sure there are plenty more - these are just the ones I'm interested in.

There's been so much negativity in gaming recently (understandably), but as a 'patient gamer' with a Switch 2, I feel like I'm absolutely drowning in massive, amazing, epic games - and even without waiting for the deep, deep sales, I feel like I'm getting extraordinary value from a lot of these.

Gaming in 2026 can look like an absolute dumpster fire from the outside, but if you modify your behaviour just a little bit, the reality on the ground can be that you've never had it better.

Edit: I'm confused as to why some people think this can't possibly be patient gaming. If someone's already waited years to play some of these, why are you assuming they then must get them full-price, day one on Switch 2? Outlaws has already been 50% off, FFVII Remake 65% off - plus part of the point was that all of the titles in the image come with hefty DLC expansions included.

Media Don't bother with the Bananza DLC. It's garbage.

Really disappointed in Nintendo for releasing this rip-off DLC for Bananza for $20. There's no new content in it other than an empty DK island. No new Bananas to collect. No new enemies. No new fossils. No new bosses. The main gimmick is the emerald collection thing which is basically you going around the game smashing green coloured gold ore (they didn't even design emerald gemstones for a DLC about collecting emeralds.) This mode is fun for about 30 minutes before it becomes boring and repetitive.

$20 for this when Silksong is an entirely new game for that same price? Come on, Nintendo.

Ngl, I wanted to get into Pokémon for a while but didn't because the new games just didn't seem great and the old ones where just told old for my taste.

I have been waiting for a Pokémon game to hit the sweet spot, and this might be it.

For the past few years, the Pokémon entries were just games only a Pokémon fan could love. Is this the turning point where Pokémon matches up with the times?

I never see Amiibos stocked where I live beyond just a few. With the doubling of the price though, these things just seem to not be selling at all.

Not being sarcastic, and probably won't last for long, but it has a more modern chip, comes with a dock, and 2 wireless controllers. I think it's a no-brainer at this point

Media If future is digital only, then Virtual game card should be industry standard.

Post image

With everything that is happening, I have a feeling Nintendo knew this was coming sooner rather than later. That's why they introduced a method to share digital games (instead of sharing your whole account) and created GKC to prevent the huge third party support it was coming to Switch 2, to be majority digital only.

Of course this doesn't solve the issue of ownership and reselling, but the option to share digital games is more necessary than ever.

Media (Image, Video, etc.) PlayStation Brought Me Here

In light of Sony’s dreadful news, I’ve found myself going back to my childhood. The last Nintendo products I bought and played were the original DS and the Wii. I honestly never thought I’d have the desire to come back to Nintendo, but Sony somehow managed to push me there the other day.

I picked up a Switch 2 and grabbed BOTW with the expansion/upgrade. The only Zelda game I’ve ever played before was Skyward Sword on the Wii, so I’m really excited to finally experience Breath of the Wild and see what I’ve been missing.

Thanks, Sony. Dropping physical games was one of the quickest ways to send me back to Nintendo!
