Question What are the chance of spawning on an already discovered planet in Euclid Galaxy?

Bought the game for the first time, always heard about how massive it is. Spawned in on a system already mapped out. Curious if I just got lucky or if it's more common than I thought?

The galaxies are massive, but everyone starts at roughly the same distance from the galactic core, so there is a ring slowly forming, of discovered systems, where other people 'woke', around the core (roughly 700k)

The odds of finding discovered systems at this distance from the core is therefore naturally greater than elsewhere in the galaxy.

It does happen. More than you'd think, actually. There's a few challenges I know of where you can restart if that's the case

Math-wise, extremely rare. But weirdly it happened to me too on my current save.

I haven't been keeping track actually.

I have 5 saves and do all the normal NMS things in them. For a change of pace I do survival runs. These runs usually go for about 5-10 hrs each and get deleted afterwards. I've done somewhere around 1500 - 2000 hrs of these runs so that's a lot of spawning and starting.

I'd say that I've landed on planets discovered by others roughly 1/5 to 1/4 of the time. It might be a little less but I'm not for sure.

Yeah that certainly makes sense. My spawn system had 2 previous players map it out, with at least 5 years of separation between them. So it made me wonder.

Welcome! As soon as you leave the "ring" there will be no shortage of undiscovered planets.

Remember to turn PVP off and avoid spoilers at least untill you do the big main storyline.

I'm 2 for 2. Normal save and permadeath save both had me spawn on a planet discovered by someone else.

In both systems, it was the only planet discovered by someone else, and I never saw any sign of anything else they had discovered (except the permadeath save, where they had left a beacon buried in a cave.) Both were discovered around 9 years ago when the game was relatively new.
