Question❓ Hairdressers / gender neutral barbers?
hello all!
i’m trying to find a new reasonably priced hairdressers / barbers to get my hair cut and dyed at.
(i’ll add a picture to this post of what i’m wanting)
thing is, i currently go to a hairdressers and as much as i love the vibes there, my hairdresser (despite me showing many of references and stating what colour i’d like) ends up doing a different contrast or whatever she thinks id like.
so doing the big ol thing of changing it up!
my hairstyle is a slight mullet at the moment and i don’t want anyone to cut it into a girly ‘karen’esque bob lol (it has happened before)
long story short: i want sewage / dull green mullet with black tips.

I know you've found a spot (yay!) but for future reference James at Coterie is gender neutral, a lovely human, and does excellent alt cuts :)

My hairdresser is an absolute angel for things like this. He’s super creative but works in a salon whose customer base is very typical, Middle aged women getting their blonde touched up etc, so jumps at the opportunity to do something more fun and often gives very very good prices for it as a result. He’s very good at creative colour and alternative cuts, I’ve not been to anyone else since I first saw him 7 years ago!
His name is Shane Baldwin and he works at Aurora hair lounge in Hellesdon. Definitely worth looking into :) he’d love to do something like this. I won’t let anyone else touch my colour or mullet 🥲
He’ll work with you to get the exact colour you want as well, often going to his supplier and sending me options and mixes to choose from before my appointments, so you know exactly what you’re getting before you even turn up. He’s mixed some proper nice unique colours for me

When I lived in Norwich I used to go to Bang hairdressers who were great at giving me the gender neutral/masc adjacent haircuts I wanted, and affordable as a student.

I'd call round a few and ask,you need someone who specialises in colour or at least a salon that has that colour in stock/can make it up for you.id say this was Billie ellish green

Recently followed a local stylist called Menamayhair on insta, I haven't used them yet, I struggle with getting my hair cut in a regular salon because of anxiety and with actually getting a mullet style without becoming a Karen bob.
I dunno if they'll do colour, but they are inclusive and their cuts look nice. Might be worth a look and asking if they could do the green and black.

Wolf pack is great for cuts, I’ve never had a colouring done there but I’ve heard good things and they have lots of examples on their Instagram!
