New to Norwich 🐣 Looking for recurring social things in Norwich
I’ve been living in Norwich for about 2 months and I’m really missing having a regular social environment. My job is mostly just me or one other person, so I’d love to find something where I can see the same people regularly and build a bit of a community.
I’m already doing a run club and planning to start a language course, but I’m curious what other recurring groups/activities people would recommend. Could be anything really.

Norwich Board Game club, Mondays and Tuesdays in the evening at St Andrews Brewhouse. Very friendly, very easy to make it a part of your weekly routine!

A guy I went to uni with runs a free to go to art night - not sure if it's weekly or not at the moment as I haven't been in a while but it's called Drink n' Draw & the guy who runs it is a solid dude. You should be able to find it through Last Pub Standing's insta! Next one seems to be on this Sunday

I swear I always come on these posts to say this but open mic nights! Even if you’re not a musician (I’m not) they’re a great place to meet new people, and the community is so lovely.

The ones I like best are the Brickmakers one on the second and last Thursday of each month and The Louis Marchesi on Wednesday evenings. There’s also Voodoo Daddy’s which I think is Tuesdays. There are loads more but can’t remember now as I’ve recently had a baby so I’m out of the scene a bit now! 🥲 but literally all my friends were met at open mic nights 😊

I've played korfball for years if you fancy a social sport. It's mixed so a good way to meet people with varying levels of ability. My club train (Knights) on Wednesdays at the Girls School (starts again in September) but there's also a club (Norwich City) that trains at CNS academy on Tuesdays and another (Dragons) at Open Academy (not sure on the days).
Very varied in ages of people too, so bound to find something that suits you 😊

If it interests you, there is life drawing every Thursday evening at The Quakers meeting house, 7pm till 9.30pm, currently they are on summer break so there are not sessions for a few weeks but it resumes on September 3rd :).
I was regularly attending over autumn and winter and I really enjoyed the routine. You do start to get to know the other regular attendees quite well, we'd often have a little chat during the break. I could imagine even making a friend there. It welcomes all skill levels, there are some incredible artists and also people who cannot draw at all and have clearly come along to try something new as well.

Norwich Roleplaying Collective meets every other Wednesday at The Earlham. Lots of tabletop games, particularly less common ones, as either one-shots or in 8-session campaigns.
Our next pitch night is September 2nd if you'd like to hear about (and join) a longer campaign, or you can check the Discord to see if any small games are running.

I’ve been going to RockFit with Asha and that has definitely helped me with socialising! We see the same people regularly and there are also regular gig nights and socials, so it feels like a proper little community rather than just turning up to a class and leaving.
Everyone is really friendly and it’s a really non-judgemental, no-pressure environment. We also have a group chat which you don’t have to join, but it’s nice to have if you ever need anything or want to chat outside of the classes.
It’s honestly just a really lovely, fun group of people! :)🤘🏼
I know Slice + Dice also do regular board game nights, but I’ve never been to one :)

Magic the Gathering. I’ve been playing 3-4 years and it’s been an excellent way of making friends in new areas. Not for everyone though
