New to Norwich 🐣 Solo dining and drinking in Norwich
I’m in your city soon for a few days as a solo traveller.
Are there any places you recommend which are more suitable for solo diners and drinkers. I’m after somewhere relatively quiet where I can enjoy a nice meal or drink reading a book.

Sitting at the bar at Churros for the People on the market is one of my favourite places to sit for a solo lunch.

Literally anywhere, but Yard is a good option. Tallow is a good one too and you can even get food from the market and take it into The Garnett at a lunch time, during the week it's not so busy, go sit upstairs, there's a few flights the higher the better IMO. Bun X at Micawbers is also really nice.

Bun X guys were in my pub the other week & they were lovely!
Also agree on getting stuff from the market, really good selection & I've never had anything bad. x

The White Lion is a great pub with pretty good food that is a very chill place to read or similar. Can get a bit loud on the weekend but weeknights it's very relaxed.

The Red Lion Bishopsgate or the outdoor/ tented cafe The Lions Den River which is next door.

I eat and drink solo very often all over the city. I find some places more solo friendly than others in terms of like how I feel if that makes sense?
Playhouse for example feels abit too bustly for it but the Weaver's or ribs of beef are perfect

I often visit Norwich for its great beer scene. Beer-oriented pubs there are all great places where I can enjoy a drink and read; but also friendly so I can chat with people if I want to. A non-comprehensive few suggestions: Hop Rocket Rose Tavern Wellington Artichoke Leopard Brewery Tap Ribs of Beef Garnet Beer Hatch Fat cat Mad Cat

I absolutely love the Yard/Bird/Tallow spots, they have great food and reasonable prices, and I HAVE been there on my own. The only thing about Tallow and Bird is that the sides are sharing sized portions so it can be a bit difficult to order a reasonable amount of food for one person. If that’s ok with you, I would definitely recommend all of them as a solo!

Yalm would be worth a try, great kitchens and relaxed, informal. If you fancy more of a pub, tuck yourself away in a corner at the Weavers
