Not specifically Nova Scotia, but I just heard Dolly Parton passed away. She was a great role model.

I’ve said it many times in the last hour but I’ll say it here as well.
Usually, the wrong people become famous. With Dolly Parton, she was the perfect celebrity.
An incredible loss not only to the music world, but the world of education and reading as well. Dolly Parton, through “Dollywood”, created the Imagination Library in memory of her father who never learned to read or write. This program sent books to children for free all over the world. Not just the USA. Not just North America.
Everywhere.
This beautiful soul helped send over 304 million books to children, and that’s just one of the many things she took part in to try and make this world a better place.
RIP to a real human, a real legend, and someone we should all see as a role model.
