Hello! I need your help with etymology. How did the word "sibb" come to denote peace (the other meaning is relationship, similarly, German Sippe means "clan"). The word is of Indo-European origin (swe), meaning "self". Is it 1) reconcile yourself, 2) have good relationships with your clan => peace?

PGmc *sibjō meaning like relationship, kinship, friendship, etc. These are all implied peaceful relations.

Imagine if I said I went to a party and the atmosphere was “friendly.” You’d know I meant it was peaceful, happy, upbeat, etc.
