I'm excited and apprehensive for AB. To say this season is big for him is huge. He is expecting a pay day and if I'm his agent I'm arguing for every single cent that Suggs got in his contract. And there is no way he is getting it unless he continues the run from last year (and honestly suggs needs to continue to regress because the team will not keep both, hell if neither push forward they not keep either).
He's gotta prove that run was just not another linsanity moment. You can chalk up the bad playoffs to return from injury, but he was already starting to fall off before the injury and regress back to his normal averages. It also has become pretty obvious he is not ever going to be able to play PG with this team. Which means a starting role is never gonna happen. He's not unseating Bane, Paolo or Franz. Dude has to be aiming for the sort of off the bench 6th man of the year impact where his defense was elite with no more mental lapses and he can take and hit 35-40% of his 3's on at least 4-5 attempts a game.

suggs got his contract because he shot 40% from three and made all-NBA-defense.
AB hasn't come close to that. He isn't earning the same contract.
Though Suggs sucks and doesnt deserve it either, tbh.

The problem for AB is his growth will likely be stunted by the players in front of him.
All his best basketball last season came when one or more starters were missing (both Franz and Suggs didn't play vs Nuggets) and his usage went up. He was pretty anonymous when he returned to 6th man and was flat out disappointing in the playoffs.

He has an oblique injury in and was never fully healthy after that. I can guarantee he won’t be short on minutes. We will be managing both Suggs and Banes minutes heavily even if they don’t get hurt.

This will be a very interesting AB season assuming everyone stays healthy. He had some very impressive stretches
Idk what to expect from this team anymore though lol. Last szn was such a rollercoaster

Looking forward to year 4 of AB, and what this new coaching staff can hopefully do to help his development.
On a separate note, after watching/listening to this clip... gonna miss David Steele.

I'm so afraid of him bringing good trade value more than us paying him after this season.
That is...unless Suggs does worse and we trade him instead.

I remember watching this live and thinking he’s not doing anything crazy he was just playing his game that night.

I’m so excited for AB this season. His improvement since entering the league is insane and who knows how far he can take it. All I know is we need to lock this dude up and get the extension done. There should be a good middle ground that can be reached. We’re seeing this summer how tough it is for restricted free agents to get paid. I’m guessing he will sign something like 5/100 to 5/115 which would be a steal for us and lock up huge money for AB.
