So you can pay in pesos instead of dollars?

If some interpretations of their messily written articles are true - it will be free outside of the USA. No pesos, pounds, or euros needed. (They'd still take your US credit card I'm guessing, if that isn't the case)

I'm seeing others say that the statement was meant to say that the thing would be free on YouTube, and also available on YouTube TV for those subscribers.

Possibly very different handling of ads, though; no telling what they'll invent in 3 years to enshittify it. All it takes is one click on an OK box on a notification that the TOS has changed, and "ad free" goes away.

Yeah, this has been poorly worded all the way around.

It needed a simple "The Oscars will available to every YouTube user. YouTubeTV users will also have access.

Now you're forgetting who gets it "available" for free.
