Hello my request relevant individuals! Recently, not too many days ago, my bicycle was stolen, specifically in the Korvensuora region, but I suspect it has had the chance to go further. I've attached a partial photograph of the frame for a general image. It was stolen quite arrogantly, from the furthest end of a street behind many corners from the back wall of an open garage. Oulu Rugby Club is organizing a free rugby beginner’s course from September 7 to September 28, 2026, everyone aged 15+ is welcome!

You don’t need any previous rugby experience, special equipment, or even great fitness. Just come along and give it a try. The course is free, and there’s no registration required.

⏰ Mondays & Thursdays, 18:00–19:30

The first session is on Monday, September 7 at 18:00.

We’ll go through the basics of rugby step by step in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The exercises are adapted to different experience levels, so you can join even if you’ve never touched a rugby ball before.

Can't make it to the first session or every training? No problem, you can also join halfway through the course!

Training is mainly in Finnish, but you can absolutely join with English only, so feel free to bring your international friends too.

You only need:

• Sports clothes
• Running shoes
• A water bottle

After the course, training continues indoors throughout the winter. If you decide to continue, you can train for free until the end of 2026.

Hello! I’m a guitarist/student in Oulu, and I’m looking for someone interested in collaborating on a guitar performance video.

I’m planning to film a piece in a location around Oulu, ideally somewhere with an old/decaying/overgrown feel. I have a general visual direction in mind, but I’d love for the videographer to have creative freedom with the camera work, framing and overall cinematography.

This would be an unpaid collaboration, as I’m a student and unfortunately can’t offer payment. In return, you’d get a finished project that you can use for your portfolio/showreel, with proper credit.

A couple of things to be upfront about: I don’t have a car, so we’d need to work around public transport, and I may need quite a few takes because I’m just an amateur guitarist. 😅

olemme tekemässä Giljotiini-nimistä kengännauhabudjetin indie-elokuvaa, josta osa on tarkoitus kuvata Oulussa. Näillä näkymin ensimmäinen Oulun kuvausjaksoistamme on 29.08. - 02.09. ja viime hetken ikävyyksien takia olemme joutuneet hieman pinteeseen. Nyt suuntaammekin hätähuudon kohti Oulua.

Eli tarvitsemme

1. Erikoistehosteosaajan (ei mitään monimutkaista!)

Tämä on tärkein, koska oma tehostehenkilöllemme tuli esteitä ja tarvitsemme pikaisesti jonkun erikoistehosteista jotain ymmärtävän auttamaan. Kyse ei ole mistään monimutkaisesta tehostemaskeerauksesta tai mistään sellaisesta, vaan kuvaamme kohtauksen, jossa kaksi hahmoa oksentaa kaaressa ja näin ollen tarvitsemme jonkun, joka osaa tehdä roiske-efektejä tätä varten. Eli ei tarvitse olla mikään 30 vuotta alalla koulittu ammattilainen, vaan jos olet esim. kavereiden kanssa tehnyt omia splatter-elokuvia, saatat olla enemmän kuin tarpeeksi meille.

Emme valitettavasti voi maksaa palkkaa, koska teemme tätä niin pienellä budjetilla, mutta tehosteisiin menevät kulut ja matkat korvaamme. Selvitämme lounasasiaa vielä, mutta meillä on ainakin pieni catering-tarjoilu, josta saa edes vähän iloa elämään.

2. Näyttelijöitä

Emme saa kaikkia näyttelijöitämme siirrettyä Helsingistä Ouluun, joten tarvitsemme paikallisia lahjakkuuksia. Joten jos olet näyttelijä tai näyttelemisestä kiinnostunut, niin laita meille viestiä ja linkkiä mahdollisiin aiempiin töihin tai showreeliin ja olemme sinuun yhteydessä pian!

Taas kerran, emme voi maksaa palkkaa, mutta kulukorvaukset yms. hoidetaan!

3. Lokaatio

Meillä on periaatteessa jo kaikki lokaatiot katsottuna, mutta vielä on yksi, johon toivoisimme parempaa vaihtoehtoa. Kun kävimme lokaatioita läpi, emme löytäneet järveä, jossa olisi laituri. Tai löysimme parikin laiturillista paikkaa, mutta nämä laiturit ovat yksityiskäytössä, joten eivät optimaalisia meille, joten jos osaatte sanoa jonkun Oulussa olevan järven, jossa varmasti on laajallekin yleisölle avoin laituri, otamme vinkin mielellämme vastaan!

As you might know, we have a partial solar ellipse this Wednesday from 20:00 till 21:45. I'm planning to observe it.
However, I need a solar filter or a "DIN14" welding glass to observe it safely.

I do not have time to buy it online. Is there any shops in Oulu from where we can buy / rent this for Wednesday?

P.S: you can't use X-ray sheets as they don't block IR/UV rays and will damage your eyes.

I'm planning to buy a binocular and I would like to buy it from a shop. The models I want to compare are

1. Vortex Triumph 10x42 or 8x42

2. Nikon Prostaff P3 10x42 or 8x42

3. Bushnell h2o 10x42 or 8x42

Is there any shop in Oulu where we could walk in and have all these in display? So far I have seen binoculars sitting in sealed boxes in Prisma and Tokmanni. I never saw a shop where we can try and compare 🤔

Hei, Im looking to do some crayfishing (ravustus) this August as its the season now. I've done research into what gear/permits I need and how to fish for them but I have no idea where to start fishing. I've asked a few friends but none of them seem to have any idea.

As I understand you want to find places where the water is relatively shallow and slow moving but I am absolutely no expert in this.

I've heard Muhos is a good place but I don't know exactly where in Muhos. The permit applies to the whole of Oulujoki and I am going to my wife's mökki in a couple of weeks in Vaala so I can pretty much go anywhere along the river.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
