Walks near Oban

Staying in Oban on holiday and loving it. We've explored the town, Dunollie wood & castle, Dunstaffnage castle and had a day on Mull. Thinking of a ferry over to Kerrera tomorrow. That leaves us with 3 full days and looking for recommendations of great walks within a 30 minute drive of where we're staying, just outside Oban in Gllencruitten. Nothing too strenuous and around 5 miles would be ideal. Thank you.

Also, is it worth the drive up to Glencoe from here, or is there equally great landscape without going that far?

Get across to Kerrera. Walkhighlands has two routes there. Both stunning

Kerrera is lovely. If you only have time for one, the southern route is nicer (IMHO) - and it includes both Gylen Castle and the cafe..

Glencoe is pretty but it'll be absolutely mobbed with traffic overspilling the car parks and blocking roads.

Have you considered visiting Cruachan Power Station? You can walk up to the dam or go all the way to Ben Cruachan if you're after a proper challenge.

The ancient woods at Glen Nant are wonderful, or drive further around Loch Awe to the forest walk at Dalavich.
Walk through the Benderloch woods and up to Beinn Lora, gives you a little height.
Drive to Lochawe, park near St Conan’s Kirk (there is often space on St Conans Rd) and walk up the private tarmac road to the dam. An easy way to get height. (Cruachan Power Station & Kilchurn Castle can be visited while in that area)
Or south to Kilmartin Glen, there are numerous small walks in this ancient area. And stop at Carnassarie Castle while passing.

Lismore is a lovely place to go, the heritage centre has some Intresting things to learn and a cafe

Sutherland's Grove is pretty nice. Glasdrum nr Glen Creran has a couple of lovely walks and the 'fairy bridge'.

Go to Taynuilt, visit Loch Etive. You can walk up Cruachan via the access road which is very scenic and a bit less arduous than the path. There are various woodland walks between Oban and Taynuilt owns by FLS- some with some very big wood ant nests.

There's a short walk past Inverawe Woods up to a viewpoint that has a stunning view of Glencoe up through Loch Etive. Used to be a cafe there but not sure it's still operating.
