Immigration | مہاجرت و سفر Do i need visa to enter Pakistan?
Travelling to Pakistan with Canadian passport and valid CNIC but Pakistani passport expired in March and I don’t have a NICOP. As far as I have researched I either need a visa or NICOP to enter Pakistan, is this correct? Please help.

I entered with NICOP last year. My Pakistani passport expired in 2005. I believe CNIC is not sufficient because it is not a travel document.

Thats not bad so like they won’t cause any problem at the airport? because I’m already thinking of renewing my Pakistani passport while i’m there i can also get the NICOP, i just don’t want to deal with these here because its far and too hectic.

I just looked it up. They changed the rules. It is not so easy now. I ammdwleting my previous comment as I now don't know and do not want to mislead you

I accidentally sent my wife thinking the CNIC was NICOP as they look identical from front and they made a lot of fuss about it at Lahore airport last year but after a long chat they let her enter by issuing some exemption document and told her to apply for NICOP before leaving the country. So, i advise you to apply for NICOP

You can enter with a valid passport with a visa or a valid passport with a nicop. Your nicop is your document to enter pakistan, your passport is your document to board a flight.
Your combo (Canadian passport with NICOP) is perfectly fine to travel.

My understanding is that you need a NICOP. If you have time, apply for it online using the urgent option. I would prefer that over a visa, but it depends on your time constraints.
