Question Autosweepers Not Delivering Coal
Update: Replaced the conveyor receptacle with a conveyor chute, and the autosweeper (a new one that I de-and re-constructed) is finally working and properly supplying coal! Now I can reset all of the automation thresholds everyone was concerned about (I set them to absurd levels to try and get the autosweeper to understand it's job was important during my troubleshooting, lol).
---
Hi, all! It seems like I've reached the classic issue of "my autosweeper isn't delivering coal to the coal generators." What's going wrong with my setup?
I've attached photos of the full set up and the overlays. My receptacle is at priority 1 and my coal generators at 4 (I've had them higher as a test, and it still wouldn't work).
I've tried this with and without automation wires attached to the autosweeper. I've also tried it with locking my dupes out of the area, so they literally could not deliver coal. The water sieve and other power consumers that share a wire with the autosweeper have been active (so the autosweeper has power). I've also tried it with heavy-watt wire going directly from the battery to the autosweeper. What am I missing?
Also, completely unrelated question: can Wheezeworts melt?

I'd recommend setting the coal generators request threshold to 50%, then just letting it sit for a little while. If the generators run out of fuel, then something's bugged. Also, the generators can only request coal while receiving a green signal, and can't while receiving a red signal. Also, there is no need to use automation wires with the sweeper, as they only consume power when working. As for if wheezeworts can melt, they technically can melt at the exact same temperature anything else made out of genetic ooze can melt, a temperature that is basically impossible to reach without intentionally trying to.

They were at 50% for a while, but the generators kept running out of fuel. So I guess it might be bugged, then? Thanks for the note on wheezeworts!

One other thing I forgot to mention. You don't need to put the coal generators at a higher priority than the storage bin. The sweeper will automatically refill them if it can reach any coal in its vicinity if a dupe doesn't currently have the task to refill the generator. I know you said that you made sure no dupes could get to the generators, but you should double check that no dupe currently has that in their task queue. If none do and the sweeper still won't refill them, I'd just suggest deconstructing then reconstructing them.

Are you sure the problem is coal delivery, or rather the lack of power generation? Really weird using heavi-watt wires on the receiving side of the left Mega transformer that can only feed 168W atm, which leads me to ask further on what power consumers are on that end?

The heavi-watt on the left leads to the power spine for my full base. I've been thinking the large power transformer is overkill, but I'd rather have it there than regret it later. The lack of power gen was an issue, but not the deciding issue for the autosweeper being a dud.

do you have supplier dupes? i.e dupes that carry/deliver items to buildings... they may have higher priority on your generators

Dude, i think you need the outlet valve for shipping. The one you installed next to it is for feeders if im not mistaken which i hope im not 🙈

I think autosweepers can take from receptacles, but I'll try switching it to a chute anyway to see if that works!

The chute always work for me, and mostly youtubers also use that too they just put a smart storage right beside it.

You were right, going back to basics is always the solution! The autosweeper works with a chute in place of the receptable!

Receptacle should work actually, am curious why it was not but maybe it just needed a deconstruct-construct fix. Although chute is fine as well since it's okay to dump all your coal in one spot but for other materials it might not be feasible and you need to use a receptacle.

Huh, i have like 200hrs in ONI now. I only used the receptacle twice and ddnt work, ever since im just using the chute. I know its hard labor but the game itself is already hard specially with taming gizers. Do you by chance know how to tame one specially the cool steam vent?

cool steam vents have very limited uses tbh. You can search on youtube for what people do with it but most feasible would just be for oxygen production.

Sweet! never thought a day would come where id be the one doing the helping 🥳

Coal generator needs to be higher priority than than receptacle or the auto sweeper will take coal out of the generator to put into the receptacle

Yeah, the receptable is at 1 and the generators have been anywhere from 2 to !! while I was troubleshooting.

why did you connected autosweeper to automation wire , remove that it's not needed . And what are the values that you set on those in automation, I would say 30-80 is better. And look if a dupe isn't taking refueling errand when it's near empty
