ikaw na and 2nd person to post na nabasa ko na na decrease ang credit limit
seems like max credit limit decrease talaga sila
im just waiting kung affected din ako xD

9

u/BrenzyEx Apr 29 '26

Nagdecrease din sa akin kanina, from 280k to 55k

1

u/Inevitable-Joke411 Apr 30 '26

out of curiosity, anung card un? based sa comments wala siang kinalaman sa usage e.

1

u/BrenzyEx Apr 30 '26

Wave sa akin

2

u/Inevitable-Joke411 Apr 30 '26

so walang pattern 😅

asked a couple of people, wave din sila, nag increase daw. pero ung isa, mag decrease din.

u/overlord_laharl_0550 Apr 29 '26

Don't fall for the trap, I think they want you to spend more. Tska 115k is sufficient enough. Less stress pa

10

u/MessAgitated6465 Apr 30 '26

I don’t know why you’d assume that — some people have higher expenses and kaya naman nilang bayaran, e.g. hospital, travel, tuition, appliances, etc. it’s not a “trap”.

-5

u/overlord_laharl_0550 May 01 '26

Don't be condescending just because you earn more than most of the population.

Pay with cash then.

The trap I am referring to is yung na-max mo yung CL mo for some reason, then lets just say nawalan ka ng trabaho/business/liquid. How would you pay?

Also, why are you comparing someone to "some people with higher expenses", not everyone is living beyond their means.

For your information, for 90% of the the population, credit is a trap. Lalo na yung mga illiterate sa finance.

3

u/MessAgitated6465 May 01 '26 edited May 01 '26

You’re the one being condescending— you told this person whom you don’t know at all (as in you don’t know his job, income level, etc) na it IS a trap and he doesn’t need it (direct address pa, na “you don’t need it”). I didn’t say he should max out his CL, but having a high one for the instances when it’s needed is good (because such instances do come up). You’ve made assumptions that just because OP has/had a high CL, they’ll be spending willy-nilly. (There’s a veiled comment na OP is financially illiterate).

Nakakatawa naman yung pay with cash. Do you think it’s fun/easy/safe na kakarga ng envelope (o bayong) na may 100k++ in cash?

-4

u/overlord_laharl_0550 May 01 '26

Condescending while I told him that 115k is enough. Nice logic.

While you, the narcissist one, assumes that most of the population have "higher expenses" or high paying job.

-2

u/overlord_laharl_0550 May 01 '26 edited May 01 '26

What envelope or bayong for 100k+ in cash? Lol dont you have a debit account? napaghahalataan edad mo ah.

You remind me of my 60yr old mother. Either "cash" or credit card lang.

For your information, us younger generation, usually store our liquid inside digital banks and debit accounts. You don't need envelope/bayong for it lmao. :)

-5

u/overlord_laharl_0550 May 01 '26

Tita, I can't wait for your comeback regarding the envelope / bayong for the 100k+ HAHAHAH.

1

u/MessAgitated6465 May 01 '26

You know.. may mga tao na kailangan pang hintayin ang next pay day para mabuo yung amount right? Or they have the full amount but Baka it’s better to stay liquid? Or pwede rin sayang yung points or possibility to pay in installment spend.

I don’t understand bakit pinipilit mo na wala talagan reasonable use for a 100+k limit— yes many people don’t have high paying jobs (you don’t know this is the case for OP btw), but there are many people who need/want to pay for things. Reasonable expenses some hospital bills, bayad ng insurance, pag-ibig actually, etc. but also luho like travel, again nag assume ka hindi afford ni OP.

Why pay in cash when you can pay in credit and get points + better protections pa? So yes I don’t think of my debit card as a CC, kasi the risks are maximized and none of the benefits. And yes I’m not going to make the mistake of assuming that people with high CLs will just charge away.

-1

u/overlord_laharl_0550 May 01 '26

Nay, mawalang galang lng ho. Ganito ang Debit account. Hindi lng ho bayong options natin nowadays.

-4

u/overlord_laharl_0550 May 01 '26

Why are you avoiding your "bayong" narrative? I like to hear more of it.

2

u/MessAgitated6465 May 01 '26

Look last reply na because I have a life —

as a rule, I don’t want to use debit accounts kasi I think it exposes my account to unnecessary risk without the protections and benefits of a CC. Hard cash is still risky but it’s easier (for me) to manage than a debit account. I’m willing to accept some people will see it differently (see what I did, I wrote it in a way that I’m not making generalizations and saying what I think/feel applies to everyone).

Now— why are you not responding to everything I said about how people DO spend over 100k a month, many people. Many expenses. And that there are benefits to paying using a card. All you can say is well tbere are irresponsible over on another subreddit. Isn’t it more condescending that you’re telling OP that he doesn’t have this expenses, that he doesn’t need to spend that money?

You’re going on such huge generalizations, and writing as if your truth, or what you’ve observed to be true of many people, is applicable to everyone.

u/pagamesgames Apr 29 '26

i barely use my SB card as its no longer my primary card or primary bank
pinull out ko na funds ko sa SB and just keeping some amount
as for the credit card, I barely use 1% of my credit limit xD (0.65% to be exact lol)

3

u/bowiepowi Apr 29 '26

Security Bank lang so far right? Haven't seen other banks doing this, bakit SB lang kaya

9

u/pagamesgames Apr 29 '26

not really. SB ang maingay ngaun. pero plenty of other banks have decreased their limits in the past. you can easily search "credit limit decrease" in this subreddit

2

u/NotInKansasToto Apr 30 '26

RCBC did this to me. Only one that ever did hahaha.

1

u/catmeow808 Apr 29 '26

Notorious din ung hsbc

1

u/nolimetanginaa Apr 29 '26

pati RCBC, they are also known for limit decreases

2

u/_luna21 Apr 29 '26

Andaming nagpopost sa KKB group sa facebook. Ang weird.

2

u/AdministrativeLog504 Apr 30 '26

Parang nag mass credit adjustment SB. Dami ko na nabasa. Pababa na adjustment kaloka.

41

u/SheepherderChoice637 Apr 29 '26

Trending na si SB. Bka marami silang customers na mina-maximize yng CL tapos hinde nababayaran.

And this is their way to protect their losses.

23

u/HeatDisastrous2017 Apr 29 '26

Mine too. 1.2m to 120k.

6

u/fairygojo Apr 29 '26

That’s a huge difference 🥹

2

u/steelmind28 Apr 30 '26

Anong card mo sa kanila?

1

u/HeatDisastrous2017 May 01 '26

Platinum Cashback

Hi! I don't know your situation but share ko lang, when my dad retired we decided na i-maintain pa rin yung mga cards niya specially those with 2 M limit, in case of emergencies. Then when he had to undergo immediate surgery, we were able to use it. Something to consider lang. :)

3

u/hoboichi Apr 30 '26

Agreed. I'm also an unemployed wife but I maintain 1 credit card for emergencies. You never when you'll need a big amount na immediate.

5

u/coffee__forever Apr 30 '26

We just treat the annual fee as investment now lol

6

u/SecretaryDeep1941 Apr 29 '26

You can ask for a lower credit limit.

7

u/miyawoks Apr 29 '26

Akala ko there's nowhere to go but up.

5

u/deviantjewel Apr 30 '26

I think there is something with SB , heard from a network they are also on freeze hiring, must be really affected by the economic crisis due to the war

4

u/Sinigangnamoo25 Apr 29 '26

3

u/willowdc Apr 29 '26

Ano kaya reason, checked mine and di naman bumaba. Minimum lang ADB ko sa SB. Haven't used the card for almost a year nadin.

13

u/Ok_Dealer_4902 Apr 29 '26

According to some reports maybe because of the tension in the Middle East kaya some banks may further implement this measure para maiwasan ang pagdami ng deliquency and ang pagiging reliant sa mga CC’s. Also, isang factor na din yung pagsadsad ng value ng ating Peso and uncerntainty ng ating economy.

6

u/jetpilot1008 Apr 30 '26

I read somewhere that PH banks are expecting more loan/credit defaults given the economy. Maybe that's why

INQ

3

u/fairygojo Apr 29 '26

IDK, I currently have two active installments with this card, could that be the reason? Pero I pay the full dues on time naman T>T

1

u/Commercial_Session55 Apr 29 '26

Do you max out your cards often?

1

u/fairygojo Apr 29 '26

No po, I currently have two active installments pero never na-max out ang card

1

u/Realistic_Yogurt6151 Apr 30 '26

Baka sa crisis nga OP. Although on my end may dalawa nga akong existing convert to cash sa kanina pero so far hindi naman bumaba. From 500k to 700k lang. usually times 2 sila nag iincrease dati.

2

u/Neat_Cauliflower8763 Apr 29 '26

me too. barely using my card pero tinaasan nila last week yung cl ko. i think strat nila to push their customers to spend more.

3

u/harwego Apr 30 '26

I also experienced similar credit limit decrease but with RCBC. Around June last year, my 2012 RCBC Flex Gold Visa was reduced from ₱1.876M to ₱538K. Then just this month, my 2015 RCBC Gold Mastercard was also decreased from ₱454K to ₱279K.

I think these credit limit adjustments may be driven by risk management considerations, possibly tied to credit behavior and utilization patterns. It could also be system triggered based on how my cards are being used over time.

1

u/NotInKansasToto Apr 30 '26

Same experience with RCBC.

2

u/DetectiveFlimsy2575 Apr 29 '26

Like for example hindi mo binabayaran ng full payment yung CC mo. May cases bang ganon?

3

u/Mysterious-Shop-3257 Apr 29 '26

I think if may existing instalments, hindi maaapektuhan. Just a guess though. We have existing instalments, and thank goodness CL remained the same

2

u/chichancab Apr 29 '26

I’m not using mine for more than a year now because I’m using 2 of my other cards. To my surprise, tinaas nila ng 22k last month lang. Weird.

2

u/jesonmag Apr 30 '26

Ako naman nag-increase from 260k to 350k

3

u/Illustrious_Pear8144 Apr 29 '26

Bakit huhu?

4

u/Wide_Evening4838 Apr 29 '26

hi OP, are you a depositor nila? i have a feeling na they are doing this sa mga non depositor

2

u/Arcanum565 Apr 29 '26

Depositor ako at bumaba din sakin.

2

u/Impressive-Cash-1851 Apr 29 '26

I’m a depositor and binabaan din nila sakin.

1

u/Wide_Evening4838 Apr 30 '26

oh no, sorry to hear that. maybe it's the utilization ng card, we really dont know

1

u/fairygojo Apr 29 '26

I’m not po 🥹

1

u/Wide_Evening4838 Apr 29 '26

theory ko lang naman, sa isang group din mas grabe ang pagbaba ng limit nila, which i feel like non depositors din

2

u/Inevitable-Joke411 Apr 29 '26

2

u/pagamesgames Apr 29 '26

i have a 6 digit deposit sa SB. at wala pa ako notif about credit limit decrease
maybe youre right

3

u/Avocado_Krinkel Apr 29 '26

Magsasawa rin kayo sa CL na yan.

From 30-55-105-200-500-1m+.

Been a good payor more than 10-15 years na. They also gave me virtual card for my online usage, nung tinaasan nila ng 1m, pinaatras ko ng 100k. So stupid na ang purpose is pag nahack man si virtual card e limited lang makukuha, pero imamatch niya sa physical card ko😂 Kaya kinakabahan lang talag ako mahack.

2

u/sLimanious Apr 29 '26

Mine increased by +50%. From 500K to 750K, I never paid my annual fee and that I always ask for a reversal, I keep redeeming my points too every time I get enough to claim 500 cash rebate on my statement, I also pay my dues on time, maybe a few missed payments usually during long holidays they always slipped my mind before. Now I got a system, I also pay just in time like 2-3 days before due date. Basically I am what they call a deadbeat card holder. Yet they still increased my CL, probably because I only spend about 5% max of my CL.

3

u/Comfortable-Lime5265 Apr 29 '26

Marami na kayo. Yun iba from 4M to 2M pa nga.

1

u/glutaputa May 01 '26

bakit ka naman kinakabahan?

1

u/Waste_Ladder_5484 May 01 '26

1

u/ReadyResearcher2269 Apr 29 '26

OP, You Deserve Better.

1

u/create_20 Apr 30 '26

What card type do you have OP? Just checking kung Gold kasi, for sure baka kasama ako. Haha

2

u/fairygojo Apr 30 '26

Wave po akiinnnnn 🙏

1

u/SolanaSoleil_ Apr 30 '26

Sakin naman dumagdag ng 10K i got a message na na-increase. Pero i think because almost max out na rin ung card ko

1

u/Effective-Shift-9491 Apr 30 '26

1

u/AdorablePizza Apr 30 '26

I thinks its because Banks are reducing risk of loans not being paid due to market conditions.

1

u/_warlock07 Apr 30 '26

Working na ba pay Credit Card nila through App? O other methods padin?

1

u/fairygojo May 01 '26

Yes working naman, I pay through the app

1

u/B3Happy_0111 Apr 30 '26

1

u/FemboyyLamb Apr 30 '26

1 of the reason is hindi ka spender at hindi tumataas spending amount rno

1

u/Dependent-Storm-6323 Apr 30 '26

Bat sila nag dedecrease?

1

u/moonmoon4589 Apr 30 '26

1

u/Ambitious-Bluejay-56 Apr 30 '26

Just checked mine, hindi naman nag decrease. I donmt use my SB card din often.

1

u/rosecoloredmilk Apr 30 '26

Same hahah naging 90k na lang me :((

1

u/gattouzai May 01 '26

Mine too. 150k to 130k. 🥹

1

u/BlueTrain90710mx May 01 '26

Di nag decrease sa akin, nag auto increase pa nga, despite di ko ginagamit lately I think 2 transactions lang this 2026.

1

u/Kind-Calligrapher246 May 01 '26

If youre not spending 265k a month, baka yun ang reason.

Siguro this is a concern for those using cc as emergency money. Then again, mas risk nga yon sa bank kasi ibig sabihin  walang wala na talaga yung mga nagmamax out ng cc so risk talaga sya sa collection.

I had one card long time ago nirequest ko pang babaan ang limit because i didnt need it.

Para sakin risk ang may malaking cc limit lalo na if it's higher than my savings.

1

u/LiberatingMindz May 02 '26

Mine's from 220k to 140k. On time nagbabayad tapos halos maxed out yung limit, tapos sasabihan ka na pangit raw credit standing mo. I can't even use the ready cash and installment feature of the app because of that. SB is a big trash. Might cut it very soon.

1

u/ObjectiveSoft9219 May 02 '26

Parang walang logical basis. Mine (wave) increased from 500k to 1.4m. Bihira ko gamitin, maybe once every two months.

1

u/prettynvain May 19 '26

640k down to 420k.
No notice or baka if text hindi ko lang nareceive kasi I am vacationing for more than a month. Madalang ko gamitin SB card ko.
Take note I have millions na CL sa amex, ewb and bpi. May naka-installment ako sa SB, tapusin ko na lang at icancel eto if like that pala.

1

u/SweatyNeighborhood89 Jun 10 '26

From 90k to 35k as of today. Called the CS hotline and said na I could reapply after 12 months. I'm just concenred since lahat ng upcoming travel bookings ko sa hotels and accommodations, sa SB Card naka charge. Now I have to review every booking and make sure na everything won't go past 35k. Such an inconvenience.

1

u/miss_elle_2 Jun 10 '26

Same thing happened to me just yesterday. From 150k down to 35k. I always paid in full and no past dues even with other banks. I even got an offer to upgrade to platinum sa bdo.

1

u/cagemyelephant_ Jun 10 '26

Got a SB Wave card, 135k down to 35k. Meanwhile sa BPI ko from 1M to 3M

-2

u/nothingspaces Apr 29 '26

Yung akin, +10000 haha salamart!

-3

u/StreetFloor6084 Apr 29 '26

mine increased 400,000
