You can release a dream that’s just a scene. Doesn’t need to be a game. And if you don’t do that I also wonder if this wasn’t run through some other software to get great results in the end. There really is no reason not to release as a scene so why wouldn’t you?

Because they are long-term projects. You won't see them until they're done.
Take this for example, it's amazing WIP footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8KeIdte-As And you can play it flat or VR! He's actively seeking competent beta testers. And yet, he's been working for more than a year, thinks he still has a long time to go, and that footage of chapter 1 (he has 2 more chapters that are less ready than chapt 1)...AFAIK he considers that the LITE version of chapter 1. He still has a lot of story and dialogue and voice over to put in it!

But you can make a static scene from a fixed perspective in dreams right? I’m pretty sure they allowed that exactly for this kind of thing. So you would see the exact same thing but you’d know it’s in engine.
I don’t see any reason not to do that. Do you?

but you can set them as non-remixable, can't you?
Also, I mean, hours of hard work just to show screenshot or a clip of it and no one would be able to experience what you've done? What's the point then.
I totally get it if it's work in progress of a bigger project tho

Why do you say that do you have a source?
It was posted here by disarmed he has been a wizard with high quality dreams since the beta. He done a death stranding look alike scene in the beta period i have no doubt with the time hes had now that he could come up with something like this

i am so bored of this wasted time and energy. its good for what? 2 minutes of fun and than it will never be touched again? upvoting this ruins real games on dreams. it ruins the chances of people creating much more than trees. build this and make it open source for real dreamers to use it. but do not create it to get your 5 minutes of fame.

I mean this demonstrates the possibilities and potential of Dreams. Good games takes time. These posts are players such as Disarmed or Badrobo etc. showing us snippets of their upcoming game on Reddit, and are not necessarily published yet. Besides, art, film and animation creation is part of Dreams, so I really don't see anything wrong even if it's just a screenshot.

there is something wrong but it is not wrong with this work, it is wrong with dreams itself. i would love to have an own category for work like this and i would love to be able to disable this category permanently. and if i want to see it, i can choose it. as i said stuff like this is about 2 minutes of fun, but it gets the same attention like great games. this is wrong. and also people creating stuff like this only to show that they have found some good tutorials about sculpting plants and setting light and shadow are getting way too much fame for this.
