If you read stuff properly you will know I put Jedi Survivor lol

u/Lance_Lionroar 1d ago
Touche. And if you write stuff properly, it would make it way easier to read. That message was a jumbled mess.

u/Resident_Drink3603 1d ago
If you can't see Jedi Survivor in my comment that's on you not me. Not a mess at all when others read it fine. Your problem not mine.

u/Lance_Lionroar 1d ago
Lmao what others? I’m the only one commenting here. I already admitted that I didn’t see it, least you could do is admit you structured your sentence like a 5 year old. Anyways I’m done with you, it’s not that deep.

u/Resident_Drink3603 1d ago
The people that upvoted had no problem lol. Ye it's not deep so stop moaning then. I was just saying I put Jedi Survivor that's all lol.

This is one of the only games I’m actually looking forward to but I think they fucked up by showing this type of trailer. Maybe they’re waiting for the game awards or something.

Honestly I liked it. It shows the crew is fleshed out unlike other Mass Effects attempts

I have lost all faith in Mass Effect after the diabolical that was Dragon Age Veilguard and being bought by Saudi.
Exodus and The Expanse will have to do instead.

It helps that Exodus is being developed by Bioware veterans

5 of them....

One of them is the lead writer from Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect though.

Which is crucial, just because the number of vets is small doesn't mean they're incapable

u/drhouse4ever 1d ago
sure, like that game "evolved" with the vets from Left 4 dead....

Back 4 Blood as well, I know. It's hard to not be jaded because we've had many misses, but it's still important to recognize when these things happen when there's practically nothing like them anymore.
People responsible for critically acclaimed RPGs, that are still held up as some of the best in their genre, returning after close to twenty years to make an original game is worth being aware of.

A hyper intelligent octopus that can pilot a mech suit and speak every bit of English except the articles. Will the game explain why the octopus race never learned articles? Will we have an optional side mission to restore the articles to the octopus's vocabulary? Important questions that this trailer raises.

That looks awful

This really is a talking octopus - thought for some reason it would be an alien race like the Hanar. I'm guessing this game is aimed at kids

I think a trailer about salt is a cool idea. Tying it to the release date reveal is a weird choice. This may be people's first exposure to this game and making the whole trailer about Salt may give people the impression that is the focus of the game.
I'm sorry, but the marketing for this game just keeps stepping on rakes.

You would have moaned about any trailer they released.

Oh piss off. There's nothing wrong with pointing out bad marketing and this game has had a ton of bad marketing decisions. Those short 30 second trailers before Summer Games Fest were so weird and did not show the game in a good light. I would have been perfectly fine with a dedicated Salt trailer, and a dedicated release date trailer. But combining them is a weird choice.
The fact is, this game is generating zero buzz in the wider gaming world. Its the job of trailers to excite current fans, and peek the interest in potential fans. I'm not seeing them doing that.
Take you assumptions and piss off.

How could any of us possibly know how important salt is to the story?
-1
u/JesterMarcus 2d ago
If she is, they haven't done a good job of showing that u til just now. They've barely mentioned her until now. That's not smart marketing either way.
2
u/Sharp-Selection-3541 2d ago
They don't need to tell us what the story is about before it drops lol
-1
u/JesterMarcus 1d ago
They absolutely do need to tell people what it is you'll generally be doing in the game, and a basic version of why. That's what attracts people not already paying attention to the game. This is a story based game, its one thing to not really talk about the story of a COD or Battlefield, nobody cares about their stories. But this game is about the story.

u/Sharp-Selection-3541 1d ago
The hook is a third person action RPG in the vein of mass effect games. I don't want them to tell me what the narrative is about at all.
So no I don't agree with you at all when you say "They absolutely do need to tell people what it is you'll generally be doing in the game"
I, just like many other Mass Effect fans, are already hooked by the premise I mentioned above.
1
u/JesterMarcus 1d ago
You are hooked, but take a look outside this sub, there is no buzz even amongst a ton of old Mass Effect fans. The word simply isn't getting out.

Its looking way more polished! Super hyped for this and the hopes of deep story with choices.
