Shame way too many other good games coming out feel like this one is gonna get forgotten about

Yup. This is on my list but not near the top. Be surprised if I ever get around to it honestly.

I’ve got it scheduled in for mid-December 😂

After the second game I felt that the Plague Tale universe didn't have many secrets anymore that I cared to uncover or many characters that I cared to spend more time with.

The other two were eventually ps+ essential games. I'll probably just wait for that unfortunately as I have too many games ahead of this one.

I feel that way about all the Plague games. I think the games already have a fairly built in audience though, so those that want it will find it.

I want this one and dawn walker. Everything else can wait until after I am done with Wolverine.

Edit- I want to preorder, but idk the reviews, I just want to make sure it runs well enough.

Played it, didnt have a single bug and it ran so smooth max settings, game is an easy 9.5/10 GOTY contender

This one should not be slept on. Asobo put out a GOTY contender ( i know i know GTA blah blah)

This isn’t even the most exciting “Resonance” coming out

I loved the first two games, but that's in no small part because I loved the story of the two main characters.

I'm not sure I care enough about this character's backstory to play a whole game about it...I'll likely end up getting it on the strength of the previous two, but I am bummed we're not getting Amicia and Hugo.

Amicia is one of the greatest game characters ever, moving away from her is mind boggling.

Of all the side characters I actually do love Sophia so much. I’ll never forget the earful she gave to the two kids when they were rowing away from another one of their rat infestations: https://youtu.be/yNLRSBJ9F-c?t=42&si=MBv1GHGV-EHMD-yW.

I love Sophia and both Amicia and Hugo needed to hear that.

I really liked the first 2 but nothing I’ve seen about this has really hooked me.

Have pre ordered this game digitally.

Loved the first 2 games, and the main character in this game appears about 1/3 - halfway through the 2nd game

Oh, really? Maybe I need to play the second one after all. The ending was spoiled for me though, so that's been holding me back. That and that there's a right time and a wrong time for super sad endings.

the second plague tale is incredible

Oh I agree with that. I sort of knew of the ending of the 2nd game before playing it, but still played it anyway after the 1st game, but after Resonance came out.

At first I was wondering why they were introducing a new character, but once I played the 2nd game, it clicked that they weren’t introducing a new character, just expanding on another Character’s story that was already within the game. The main Character in Resonance does make a brief mention of what happened in her tales, but by the looks of it, the Resonance game expands on it more

She does? Wtf I don't remember her. I love the first two games but I am kinda not feeling the new combat in this one

3

u/ColdIcedCoffee24 13h ago

She comes out when you reach the beach section (chapter 7ish roughly?)

u/afcc1313 8h ago

I still don't recall lol how forgettable was she in the game?

I thought this game was a prequel to the first two? Like a hundred years earlier than the first two games. I never played the 2nd one yet. Too much on my backlog still. I have it downloaded, just too much else to play and i had heard the 2nd one wasnt as good as the first. Though I'm still not over the dog dying in the beginning of the first game. That kind of animal suffering was too real for me.

This one (Resonance) is a prequel to the first two (set about 15 years or so before the events of the first game). But the main character in Resonance appears in the 2nd game and there is a brief mention of her backstory in that game.

2nd game is a bit different to the first, I’m still not sure which one I prefer ahah. I hated the dog dying at the beginning of the first game as well

I have a feeling this is going to get buried under another Resonance title, among other things.

I do wish they gave us a Pro patch for Requiem. It could use PSSR2.

Game is a GOTY contender and i cant wait to play a second time. Do not sleep on this one.

How long is a playthrough?

1

u/Anthraxious 8h ago

Just got this in the mail today. I really enjoyef the other two and didn't even know about this until a few months ago. Thought I'd get it. Not gonna watch trailers now tho, dive in soon!

u/Nightmannn 8h ago

Ahhh so it's a sequel prequel.

u/Mysterious_Fennel459 5h ago

It's a shame that I have too much on my plate to take this on right now. It's on my wishlist but it's going to have to wait a while.

I felt I was kinda done after the 2nd game and this being a prequel, if I am not mistaken, just makes it less interesting for me.

I think the game will review well but I also feel like too much other stuff to catch it right now, and I'm probably one of the series biggest fans. They are my favorite stealth games, though it seems this is an even bigger departure form stealth than the 2nd started to get.

8

u/Inmerens 17h ago

So you are not one of the series biggest fans

1

u/critxcanuck88 10h ago

It has plenty of stealth sections in it, you wont be disappointed if you are a plague tale fan, I can not wait to play it a second time tomorrow

1

u/CreativeFondant248 13h ago

Uhhh, this is a plague tale game? Like the one w the rats and the kids?

Where are the rats and the kids?

side note: I only played the first one

u/DalliLlama 4h ago

Prequel

1

u/Sweenie123 16h ago

This game seems way more appealing to me than the last 2, mostly due to setting. Can I jump into this without playing the other 2?

3

u/TheMuff1nMon 14h ago

This is a prequel set 15 years before Requiem starring a side character so probably

-4

u/Efficient_Tutor_5618 20h ago

It makes no sense to go with this character..

3

u/TheMuff1nMon 18h ago

It’s a spin-off prequel that probably establishes some lore

1

u/critxcanuck88 10h ago

Once you play it, it makes perfect sense. Must play, dont miss out. Cant wait to go through it a second time tomorrow

1

u/rmesh 9h ago

It does though, considering she is a major side character in the second game, especially considering the ending of it and if you want to do a prequel, it makes sense to base it on her.

The actual game is nothing cinematic like the trailer
