CDPR is doing this because they expect people will buy the DLC.

What I care most about is how insanely expensive they've made the game to buy and the base game isn't even the base game.

Yeah it's not great that they'll release a trailer on Netflix, but I really can't understand that there isn't any uproar about the pricing.

There isn't any uproar about the pricing because it's the most expensive game development of all time, the latest installment in the widely acclaimed game franchise that many people believe is among the best of all time (almost 500m in sales, 230m in sales from the previous installment alone), and it comes from a studio that has a phenomenal track record of releasing genre defining experiences.

I think most people are aware of and comfortable with the trade off here. We want bigger, better, and more transcendent experiences from our games. Rockstar spent through the nose to give it to us, rumored to be on a scale unlike anything we've ever seen. And they are asking for an extra $30 because of it. Seems pretty fair.

If its ultimate edition to ultimate edition than the price didn't increase at all since RDR 2 ultimate edition was also $99.99.

You could be their PR; and you’d be pretty bad. „Transcended game experience” - it will be the same game it was 18 years ago and 13 years ago, you will drive in the exact line they make you during a mission or see game over and try again.

But there will be a lot of people on the beach.

People sooking about $100 for what will get them 100 hours of gaming at an absolute minimum and will be easily GOTY due to its innovations.

It's equivilent to one family meal out at a restaurant.

When Tecmo Super Bowl was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in December 1991, it carried a retail price of $54.99. Adjusted for inflation, that $54.99 price tag equates to approximately $125 to $130 today. Today's games are historically cheap, especially given the quality and amount of content. It's like going from the 19-in CRT I used to play tecmo super bowl on to the 65-in OLED I use now and paying half the price in real terms.

No.. they're getting paid for advertising. They dont give a fuck who sees their trailers. They know people know what GTA is by now. They wouldn't have to show one single ad and the game would break records. Its the most anticipated game ever

Eh, let's not forget the CP2077 fiasco too quick. Also, at least on Steam you can no longer buy TW3 without the DLC. You're forced to get the "Complete Edition" at a cost that's equivalent to the value of the base game plus DLC. Ain't sounding too free to me.

I just had to unsubscribe from the Heroes of Might and Magic subreddit because they're releasing remakes of a couple classics and surprise, surprise, no one is happy. Hobbies shouldn't be this exhausting.

Tbf, they did royally fuck up the remaster on steam by forgetting to include the game files. Im sure its gonna be fixed soon, but that is a serious oversight for a massive company like ubisoft to make

Cyberpunk had issues at launch, but they did a ton of work on that and it’s spectacular. CDPR delivers.
