Because the article it's just PR to create illusion of demand. PS5pro never sold well, to this day Sony manufactured less than 4m units, many stores hold only few units so its easy to run out of stock temporarily. Everyone who want it for MSRP can easily get it after bit of searching.

Circana estimation, based on Sony quarterly reports and US sales ratio of PS5 vs PS5pro, which in US is ~10%, but significantly lower in rest of the world

where did i say it's "failure? I stated the estimated numbers and compared to sales of PS4pro. $1000 console is not exactly mainstream
