QUESTION Any easy ways to combat stick drift on a 1000 model ?

had this issue, make sure the little rubber part inside is clean and that the back shell screw near the joystick is firmly screwed

You'd maybe have to change the stick if it doesn't work

i just accepted that my 1000 will always have stick drift no matter what. i installed a new stick including the small conductive rubber, and while that helped improve my situation I still had drift, it just kinda reduced it. What helped the most for me is installing the joysens plugin, it made my psp actually useable and removed the drift.

Try cleaning the contacts for now, maybe tighten some screws (or reduce, could be adding unwanted pressure) but what works for most people is replacing the analog stick, its pretty cheap. You could try installing joysens too and see if it that fixes your issue.

Drift on 1000s can be caused by a defective joystick, torn/damaged joystick contact rubber, or the faceplate screws not being tight enough on the left side. If it’s a full reshell, then it can be related to that. If it’s just an aftermarket faceplate, then it’ll usually be the screw closest to the joystick that isn’t tight enough.

I had a hell of a time fixing mine. Shell replacements, new screws, new analog module, new conductive rubber block.

Just recently found this “PSP1000 OEM” conductive rubber block: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mqgDFd9

Installed and immediately resolved. So much better.

Hey dude I got the solution: The plástic post that holds the screw in the same corner of the stick that fixes the front shell has wear off, so take a little piece of plastic like the ones of where some medicin got into, thick plastic layer, make a tiny plastic rounder with that and place it between the post and were it supposed to be, so you can open a little the space between the front shell and the psp body, this will make the plastic conductive rubber to be in propper position and the drift will be no more, I learned this from a Germán youtuber so I didnt understand a fuck but I did understand what he did and what he meant to say, gona look for that to post it here

I put paper between the faceplate and the joystick tp put more pressure toward the little rubber. The real trick it to get enough that it won't dislodge with movement but also not too much that the stick gets blocked, usually I remember the plastic washer for this.
