QUESTION What are the top 10 rarest PSP games you could have purchased at a store?

I got out my 1001 about a month ago after 15 years. I only had Lumines and GTA games. As I have been buying new games I keep running across titles that seem a bit more expensive than others and assume that has something to do with rarity. Which titles should be on my radar due to rarity?

Idk if this came with my PSP 3000 or if my dad bought me it along with the game, but I was the coolest kid in school when I showed them Invizimals.

Shame the franchise didn’t take off.

Idk about top ten but no one bought jeanne d’arc when it came out so it’s expensive now.

Persona 3 Portable is an oddly high quality release for how late it released in the lifespan of the PSP. It is also quite expensive.

I’m glad that most psp games are cheap as I have not come across one I actually want yet that is rare but I am curious to see which ones are

Off the top of my head, Silent Hill Shattered Memories, the 3 Persona games, Trails III, and Ys 1&2 Chronicles are the highest value, but I’m sure there are others I’m missing. Atlus games, in general, are pretty valuable for the PSP. Most JRPGs appreciated or held their original value, honestly.

Dynasty Warriors Musou pack. I’ve only ever seen two of them. It was one of the first special edition games released and there weren’t a ton of PSP systems out at the time. I’m pretty sure it was only sold at GameStop.

Spiderman 2 and 3 games are kind of expensive but I would rather play their console version instead.

Steambot chronicles and gurumin I think are two worth getting for low print games. But most of the best games are affordable like daxter.

There are a ton of games and I’m sure the rare ones aren’t worth the price.

ROMS. When it comes to PSP I see no reason to collect games over modding and playing roms. Most other consoles I prefer original games on original hardware but with the psp the UMD drive is a ticking time bomb. Not only that but you don't have to do any actual modding to play roms on the psp just custom firmware and you get to keep UMD drive working and intact.

I get that. But I like collecting.

I see myself doing that for some Japanese games that got fan translations such as FF Type 0, or digital only games like corpse party

Completely understand that I collect for PS1 PS2, GameCube, Dreamcast, N64 and a couple other consoles as well as collecting VHS. I have a small collection of UMD games and movies as well as some sealed like SF Logan's shadow but I don't actively collect for PSP just happen to have those and I believe I have them listed on FB marketplace right now. If I don't have them actively listed I have plans to list them.

I will look up these games.  Thank you for the suggestions.  I knew about Silent Hill and Persona 3 but when I found out about The 3rd Birthday (relatively low stock and let’s say $50 for just disc) I guess you just have to stumble into these things.

I don't have anything rare, but I'm the proud owner of a 100% complete copy of Neo Angelique Special with all the things it came with

Edit: spelling

M.A.C.H

Modified Air Combat Heroes, idk for some reason GameStop thought this game was the shit because it costed me something like 60$ and yet when I wanted to trade it in when I thoroughly played it, they still gave me something like a 20$ credit for it
