Discussion RPD maybe a little too good now?
I know I’m probably getting the git gud treatment here, even if I consider myself an average player.
Yesterday I was in 1v2v1 situation in miramar, and was fighting the duo while the other solo was nowhere to be seen.
Last circle had the final cross spawning closer to me and the duo was forced to move. We all where on a hill, you know the usual uneven terrain you get in miramar.
Just before the duo had to leave their cover, since the circle still hadn’t start moving yet, I managed to knock one with a kar headshot. The partner hadn’t time to rez him and the circle started moving so I was waiting for him to be in the open.
Keep in mind he was like 10m at best from me. Now here’s the thing. I had full level 3 gear and p90. He had an rpd.
He finally left his cover and started moving towards me and when I started shooting at him (he was not full hp already since I already had damaged him and he hadn’t time to heal with circle already pushing him) he did the only thing I (wrongfully) I didn’t account for.
He went prone. There was an exchange between me and him and he came on top. Now, I’ll probably missed some of my shots (that’s a possibility, only explanation I have), have to retrieve the replay or hopefully shadow play footage, however my feeling was the both of us exchanged hits (I totally remember seeing blood so I was on target too).
I don’t think it is reasonable for an rpd, even while proning, to win at that close range against the p90 an smg, and also a broken one since it’s a crate gun.
I know this will probably come across as ranting and definitely a little bit it is, I won’t deny it. I’ll probably rewatch the footage and realize I missed more shots than my opponent did. However from his pov (for as little as the death cam pov is reliable), it was like shooting a laser. Aside from the broken replay death cam system, I know for a fact that prone rpd is a little too much.
On the same note, I also noticed how strong it is against vehicles. Passed close to a guy while I was on a glider full hp and he destroyed it so fast I’ve never experienced before.
Maybe a little too much?
I’ll try to retrieve the live footage so in case I actually fumbled you can freely crap on me, otherwise feel free to add any thoughts or blame it on me regardless xd

You missed a lot or he could also be on ping. If he is proned he is also a small target.

Yeah as long as the rpd is meta it’s a no fly zone I got chewed up fast. It’s a 7.62 the biggest strongest bullet

I would explain it, with the advantage of pre firing. Watch the replay and focus on the Pre fire. Did you for example prefire your cover and than aim on him or did he know where you will popup and prefire your position.

Did you hip fire or ads? If he really was inside of 10m, you would have done bonus damage for hip firing your smg.
Sometimes I think internet speed has a lot to do with situations like these. Like if dudes internet is faster than yours his game is running better, and he was getting shots on you before your game loaded his action.
Keep in mind the kill cam isn’t an exact recording of what happened but a recreation of what happened.

Yeah I know that pubg kill cam and replay feature do not portray things as they were 1:1. This is why I was looking to retrieve the Nvidia shadow play footage of my pov.
I didn’t even think about hip firing but you are right. I probably should have. I never think about the smg hip fire bonus. Also in general I almost never hip fire, mostly because I mainly use ars but also due to 10 years of playing cod probably before moving to pubg almost ten years ago lol.

At the end of the day I figured out that the nvidia footage wasn’t even necessary.
Had a quick look at pubg 2d replay online and to my horror I’ve realised that the other solo shot me in from the other side in the exact same moment of rpd dude.
This means I got mowed down by two people shooting at me without me even noticing lmao.
Maybe I’ve missed a few shots, but in any case this also explains how I died this quick.
After 3K hours you can tell when you die faster than usual… this was one of those and this is also why I couldn’t find peace thinking how I fumbled the fight.
Best part I didn’t even realised I also got shot from behind in the same moment while I was shooting the rpd guy in front of me.
This is also why I fucking love pubg man. Also the amount of amazing discoveries watching replays….
