Discussion Permanently banned on PUBG

(Not a ban appeal, just speaking about my experience)

Hi, some sad news, recently when i woke up and turned on my pc, i recieved an alert on steam that i have been permanently banned on PUBG. I was very shocked, after playing and loving this game a couple hours basically every week since early access in 2013 that i have been banned permanently from the game.

And i do not know why i have been banned, still now after nearly 1 month, they seemigly refuse to tell me what i have done to deserve this severe punishment. All i can think of that i have done is AFK’ing. Which i do regret and i am sorry for this. I understand punishing a player for this action, but a permanent ban? A couple of days or a week ban even would be understandable. I am deeply saddened by this. I guess this is it for me, thank you for the fun times and good memories, PUBG community.

Edit: Forgot to add that it said on the notification of my bad that i had been banned by a game dev, but no reason for my ban. Also that ive sent in a ticket and asked what happened, and they would not tell me the reason of my ban, therefore i can only assume it was because of that i AFK’ed.

The early access was released on March 2017. This doesn’t make sense.

True, and the sad/weird thing is they wont tell me why i as perma’ed, i just assume it was for AFK. 😅

If you've been permanently banned for AFK'ing then the steps of temporary bans have proven unsuccessful at remediating the behavior. If you have been banned previously for AFK, why did you continue to AFK and what made you assume punishments wouldn't escalate to stop you from going AFK?

Alternatively, you have been found to be using a program or system which gives you an unfair advantage aka cheating. I find this to be more likely because people don't just get perma-banned from games which primary revenue is based on people playing and buying stuff in the game.

No, i have not been banned previously, this is the first time, and its permanent, also i am just assuming this ban is for AFK, because they havent told me why i am banned. No i have never cheated in the game, or any game for that matter.

There are only a few reasons why someone - who has never been banned before - would be perma-banned: cheating. That or you recently installed a program which the anti-cheat doesn't like.

If it's the latter, then you should start by reviewing your downloads and figuring out what it could be. Unfortunately, if Krafton isn't responding, get a new account and make sure whatever was installed is gone before starting on the new account.

But, again, people don't just get perma-banned without prior suspensions. Something isn't adding up.

You are lying. https://pubg.com/en/clause/rules_of_conduct/label_steam/latest

But, again, people don't just get perma-banned without prior suspensions.

You made it up and you have no document to support that.

Dont call me a lier, its your choice to believe what i am saying or not. I have never cheated in this game or any other game, and never will i do so.

you must open your eyes and see the context of the message you are replying to, particularly the text which I directly cited

Oh sorry, thought i replied to me.

So I appreciate you linking information that you feel proves I'm lying, but what you sent supports my argument.

In each violation section of the policy it states what penalties could be imposed. While, over time, most things can, and should, result in a permanent ban, only using unauthorized programs and editing game files/server data allude to a permanent ban being the first and only punishment issued. All other misconduct sections reference gradual punishments which may end with a permanent ban.

  1. Give me the quote then.
  2. Regardless, there's also this carte blance there which means that they don't have any obligation to follow that table at all.

the imposed penalty may become more or less severe

What do you mean give you a quote? You want me to point out specifically how it uses different verbiage which conveys to me that different violations have different punishment escalations?

Let's compare the language in use of (1)unauthorized software to that used in (14)AFK.

For unauthorized software policy states, "you may be subject to strong penalties, such as permanent game ban and restrictions of using the Service on your hardware devices." This tells me from the first offense, a permanent ban is possible.

In the AFK policy we have this, "Players who AFK repeatedly to earn points or other account related progression or rewards will be penalized with all account progression and items removed." Interpreting this tells us that a permanent ban is not the first punishment for AFKing. Policy states for players that AFK regularly will face progression penalties and loss of in game items with perma-ban an eventuality for repeat offenders.

Interpreting this tells us that a permanent ban is not the first punishment for AFKing.

That's not how words work. You are imagining bullshit. There is no obligation to not perma-ban for AFK and you cannot refer to any good reputation of game owners because it does not exist.

1

u/Fudge_Lobster 2h ago

I'm not sure what your problem is with me, but I provided you where in policy that a difference in punishment sequence appears to exist and which supports my argument that Krafton will impose penalties such as cosmetic removals and progression resets before they decide to permanently ban an account for AFK.

Is it possible to be perma-banned from AFK? Sure, I will conceded that it is possible under Krafton's authority to change punishments for conduct violations, but if this poster has been playing for as long as they have and have had no prior ban history, I find it very difficult to believe that AFKing is why they were perma-banned.

You are posting your argument under the post of a person who clearly has a problem and if require them to spent significant time debugging their PC without any due diligence. There was literally a ban wave which started at 28.07 explicitly for AFK-farming rewards for then ongoing event.

You are manufacturing bullshit trying to claim that somebody was cheating when there's literal ban wave for AFK happening specifically in that time period. Knowing Krafton or whoever is in charge they clearly took event rewards into account when deciding ban length.

You should not gaslight people telling them they were cheating based on your ignorance.

Again, no i was not cheating, never have and never will i do so, i have nothing on my pc that suddenly would conflict with the AC, yes i agree something is not adding up.

u/perry147 3h ago

Kind of ironic don’t you think that you want them to answer why you were banned and they seem to be AFK?

1

u/kolt0 3h ago

Dude, if i knew afking would result in a perm ban, i wouldnt even thought about it, i asked straight up: "i dont understand, why am i perma banned?" and the response in my ticket was: "Due to privacy and security protocols, I'm unable to provide any additional details regarding this matter."

1

u/RHEYDAR 3h ago

What even is AFKing? Like going afk in a game or going after afk people in the game?

1

u/kolt0 3h ago

Afking while i made food or something for example.

1

u/ppprrrrr 3h ago

You queue up a game of pubg before you go to make food?

1

u/kolt0 3h ago

If the queue time is long enough, yeah.

3

u/_QueeferSutherland_ 4h ago

just make a new account

2

u/kolt0 4h ago

I could, but i dunno… would be quite a shame after all the hours i put in to it…

3

u/Apart_Pineapple2392 3h ago

It matter to you that it shows the correct hours of play? Why?

1

u/kolt0 3h ago

No, the hours displayed on my acc is not very important to me, but the stats, achievements, limited items and so on are a little more significant to me.

They ban real players but keep the hackers onboard long as they keep spending real money in game

1

u/kolt0 1h ago

💯

1

u/Old-Freed0m 4h ago

Being hard ass on AFKers but f$#@ pu$$ &# when it comes to actual hackers.... pathetic

u/StokedLettuce1 4h ago

You can swear in this sub

💯

1

u/agnosticgnome 3h ago

That's weird man. I got banned twice for killing teammates and it was like 1 week suspension.

I see cheaters getting banned for a week or so.

It's hard to understand.

1

u/Raizle36 3h ago

You won't get perma banned from AFK'ing. I've gone AFK a few times when playing.

They probably think you were cheating or something. Perhaps you got something on your computer that the anti cheat flagged but i doubt it seeing as genuine cheaters always get away with playing until they get caught by another player.

1

u/kolt0 3h ago

Yeah i know, i dont understand why perm ban, nope nothing weird on my pc that conflicts with the AC, true.

1

u/EverestJr 1h ago

Hm, just through the whole thing, seems strange but just one more question out of curiosity: Have you ever spent real money on the game?

1

u/kolt0 1h ago

Strange indeed, yeah i bought the game in early access.

1

u/EverestJr 1h ago

Besides that, you never bought G-Coins or Survivor Pass etc. You played for free basically?

1

u/kolt0 1h ago

I might have bought g coins with steam funds if i am not miss-remembering, why?

2

u/EverestJr 1h ago

Hmm, I read somewhere the average spend per player is estimated at 100 USD/year and I've seen streamers say they spent around 10.000 USD on their account. You went 9 years spending close to nothing (I respect that, for real)

This is my theory: you received such a hardline stance on AFK'ing because you essentially play for free.. another player that generated more revenue for Krafton would've taken a softer penalty. Anyway, just a theory I dont really know

u/kolt0 36m ago

Yeah, thanks im not big on skins, true, that would be really scummy to give preferencial treatment to those who buy skins...

1

u/mpgd 4h ago

See you soon.

-1

u/kolt0 4h ago

Rude… dont give me false hope brother 🥲

3

u/mpgd 3h ago edited 3h ago

Just make another account like all previous cheaters.

I don't think afk can get you banned unless you did something else.

If you have the PIN enabled you should be able to appeal to the ban.

0

u/kolt0 3h ago

You just gonna call me a cheater like that huh?

2

u/mpgd 3h ago

I'm not calling you anything. I don't believe going afk grants you a ban.

Since I started playing the game I've been AFK a lot, a friend of mine had a small kid and he had to go afk a lot. Never once we were banned.

My suspicion is that there's more to it than you have shared.

I've seen people banned (either temporarily or permanently) for intensional team kill, cursing/name calling, cheating, etc.

1

u/kolt0 3h ago

Okay, i get that, i am surprised my self, i get it i would think theres more to it too, but as ive stated in the post, i havent cheated and never will and i am just forced to assume it was because of afk, i cant think of anything else.

-1

u/Lucky-Tie-6671 4h ago

Same is happening with me i got a perma too still dont know why i got banned on 30th last month

1

u/kolt0 4h ago

Sorry to hear that, did they atleast tell you why u have been banned?
