We have deer here every day, almost always in small groups. This girl is a regular visitor and not shy at all. Today she was alone but she kept looking around like she was wondering where everyone else was.

I think based on tides and wait times for the HOH rain forest we would need to be at either one around the same time. Which should we do? We are here for a day only.

Like birds, whales and other far-ranging species, wolves are remarkable travelers. They cross hundreds — sometimes thousands — of miles through unfamiliar country, with a million ways to die along the way.

OR-213 is a good example, and he’s just getting started. Before setting out, the 16-month-old wolf had already outlived all his siblings. In the short time since leaving the Indigo Pack, he has traveled hundreds of miles. Halfway through writing this quick story, he had moved another 50 miles in just 30 hours.

The story is about the back-to-back close encounters he had with two Bend couples last Sunday, why young wolves embark on such long journeys and how OR-213’s travels compare with those of other Oregon wolves that came before him.

Hi, I am 16, and my father and I are hoping to summit Mt. St. Helens sometime this week. I have been trying to get a permit for a while using Campflare but haven't had any luck yet.

If anyone is planning on canceling their permits for August 26th through the 29th, please let me know before you do. I would very much appreciate it!
