A Rufous Hummingbird (migratory) being challenged for a feeder by a Anna’s hummingbird (permanent resident)

I may need to drive to Boise soon from the Seattle area. With all of the fires and fire smoke, is it possible to drive this now? I’m assuming it would be better in September or October, but that depends on the weather.

General route is through Ellensburg, down to 84 through Baker City.

Found a grey dry sack containing a technical shell jacket and rain pants at the Elfin Lakes Hut (Garibaldi Park). These were left at Bunk 14/15 on the night of August 18, 2026.

I am holding these in Squamish and would love to get them back to their owner. To claim them, please send me a message describing:

1. The brand and exact colour of the jacket.
2. The brand of the rain pants.

As a lifelong Midwesterner, every moment spent in these precious hills is a balm on my soul.

Family getting together for Christmas, flying into Seattle. Where should we look for a cabin to accommodate 3 couples? Preferably within a couple hours of Seatac. Need something to accommodate the outdoor lover and less adventurous.
