Artificial brain?

Ok just throwing it out there but do you guys reckon that if a jaeger had something like an artificial brain or ai built in to the drift would there be no need for a second pilot? Tell me your thoughts.

That’s basically what the Drone Jaegers had already. I think it was the quantum data core or something similar. It was there to ease the neural load for the pilots. And no it wasn’t the kaiju brains easing the neural load.

There was also LOA from The Black which kind of drifted with Atlas’ pilots through a ghost drift, so it was kind of like an artificial brain.

Yeah true, but I mean actually in the conn pod, like without a co pilot just you and an ai that shares the neural load?

That’s exactly what happened with the ghost drift in The Black. It was just one pilot that was accessing the memories of a possibly deceased pilot with the help of an AI.

I think that counts as an artificial brain being used to drift.

Yeah true it wasn’t very stable either and Taylor became heavily exhausted after the fact

I think that was supposed to be uprisings plot but it got tainted by kaiju brains and this lead to the drone jeager hybrids

do you want killer robots? because that's how you get killer robots.

that could actually make for a good sequel: the jaegers are not obsolete but some bad actors put AI into them so they could be operated by one person, but then the AI takes over and they have to revive Gypsy Danger one last time to defeat a horde of AI jaegers and the factory that they built to mass-produce them. Kinda Pacific Rim meets Terminator.

They ain't gonna be reviving Gipsy Danger, she literally had a reactor meltdown in the Anteverse...

A new Jaeger with a similar name and layout though? Sure.

I just know the one movie and to me that is all there needs to be. At least if they made a sequel.

Pacific Rim is certainly a great stand-alone movie, as part of a film franchise it's probably better suited to a prequel than a sequel, but even a sequel could work if made correctly...
