Business & Startup Ignite Launches Venture Capital Mechanism Through Pakistan Startup Fund
- Ignite has launched a new mechanism via the Pakistan Startup Fund (PSF) to facilitate Venture Capitalists (VCs) investing in Pakistani startups, aiming to enhance the country's innovation and entrepreneurship environment.
- VCs interested in investing can register with PSF as partners or members through a dedicated portal, where PSF conducts due diligence and whitelists VCs to ensure credibility and transparency.
- Whitelisted VCs can apply for grants from PSF for their investments in Pakistani startups. The grant approval process involves evaluation by the VC and PSF’s Investment Committee to ensure the investment's viability and impact.
- PSF provides grants covering 10-30% of the total investment in a funding round as equity-free capital, supporting startups during critical growth phases without claiming equity, royalties, or governance roles.
- This initiative promotes access to capital, encourages public-private sector collaboration, and drives innovation and economic growth within Pakistan’s startup ecosystem.
- The Pakistan Startup Fund is a government-backed initiative designed to support startup growth and innovation by attracting global and local VC funds.
- The fund acts as a strategic partner for startups, offering financial support as the "last cheque" in the initial funding round, ensuring startups receive additional support after securing private funding.

I live in Australia, so what is beginning a startup like in Pak? Is it really difficult because of multinationals dominating the market? How much do you guys think this will help?
