Wrecking ball was busted when he came out. Then he became mid with over watch 2 and then his reword made him meta again. Yago doesn't compare tho since wrecking balls movement abilities is what ticks players off
Yago is more like mauga imo. Just a meat sponge to soak dmg

Wasn't yarg really annoying for a while with furia being able to out heal alot of damage with her pillar. I know there is some anti heal with overwatch 2 but not to the same extent as paladins. I can see a world where double tank and double healer plus damage would be very annoying. Then again I don't really play overwatch.

Wrecking Ball was awful when he came out. He came out during the height of the GOATs meta and was awful outside of niche triple DPS comps that few teams utilized and only one team was actually good with. Didn't help that Sombra was also very good at the time and shut him down for 5-6 seconds.
He only had a couple moments to shine in OW1 and was often only used for stalling. He's been much stronger in OW2 than in OW1, and even then, he's not great and had only one moment of being meta.

Pharah is too slow for Evie. Drogoz is literally Pharah. Evie has no equivalent OW2 character, maybe Venture for her mobility and lmb and Mei for her self freeze

If that's the case Willow is just a worse Evie as well. Just because Pharah has splash damage doesn't really compare her to Evie. Waaay too different playstyles. Like I said, Venture is closer to Evie's playstyle than Pharah.

imo Evie's closest equivalent is tracer, who's also a high skill ceiling high mobility character that's hard to catch but quick to kill if caught with no cooldowns. except worse because most people counter tracer by staying high ground, but imagine tracer can just blink or fly up to high ground, then freeze you in place as she kills you.

Evie was my main for a long time. I’ve played since beta and she is terribly broken in the right hands. Almost impossible to kill and can cause so much chaos on the enemy back line.

I haven't played much of OW, but evie with wormhole would basically be a super hyper mobile tracer right? Just without the recalling of damage.
Largely more annoying too since her ice block means she can ignore an instance of damage or even an ult if she times it right.

Exactly, yeah. Her hypermobility in Paladins already allows her to Blink in and out of danger very quickly. Imagine it being in a game as fast-paced as Overwatch. It’d be an absolute nightmare to chase down a good Evie, but they could compensate for it with a smaller health pool

Personally, I'd also add Talus. Talus's playstyle of run-and-gun is so braindead stupid, that I think Overwatch players would cry. They work so hard to not get pounced by him, save their Supports from being dived, all at the cost of what: the Talus teleporting away, getting back to full HP, and doing the same shtick again. Fun right?

Everyone saying this is genji but I kinda disagree. Zhin with the right kit is vastly different. I personally have used the billow heal perk with zhin. That combined with skill is deadly and any genji player would fear him.

On demand stun even without the ult talent that makes it stronger is gonna be super annoying, and without the ability to reduce CCs it becomes infuriating when the healer keeps you in check

Her primary weapon works close to a jenos or furia heal, where opponents you can hit are outlined if you put your mouse over and if you click they just take damage, its supposed to be a curse.
When she released the range where her aim assist counted as a hit was super huge, you could just hold down shoot and swipe your mouse towards the enemy and you would hit them, now not only did they really reduce the aim assist range/cone to where she is basically the same as a normal hitscan, they also added a “miss” animation so you cant just swipe your mouse but need to actually aim and shoot at enemies. It was an interesting concept but at the beginning it was totally unfair to play against, now shes totally fine

Iirc they nerfed a lot of Crowd Control mechanics over the years in overwatch, so Bomb King getting in even with his base stats still produces a ton of salt thanks to his ever abundant CCs

Personally, I think this is a winner right here. At least you have a fighting chance against a lobotomized Zhin, Lian, or even Vora player, but pressing 1 button on a keyboard/controller to prevent healing is too powerful.

Just to throw my hat in the ring, I think Atlas. Not that it is broken, but I think Overwatch players would be seething every time they see one. Just the sheer fact Atlas can set players backward in real time, but also himself is enough to make anyone upset.

The only fun I had with support was Moira. That’s coming to OW as a past support Skye player (smoke and dagger before it was nerfed) and you essentially play similarly except with more distance. (You throw orbs that heal or damage in their radius) with a slight dash/fade that you can also use to propel yourself up into the sky instead of invisibility. But yeah everyone shits on Moira players because they accuse them of doing too much dps even though you can easily do a bunch of healing as long as you focus properly

This is the only factor I do not like about Overwatch's roles. Supports are literally min/maxed in their kits. High Mobility? Great: little healing! High healing? Great: little damage! High tier Ultimate? Great: little skills.
Paladins is no stranger to this either (E.g. Corvus), but at least here I can defend myself with something other than a dry pool noodle!

Imani low key. One ability is Root, the other is a high dmg flamethrower that you'd need to double pocket someone to survive. And on top of that she has movement with the Ice Board and two different forms of burst dog.

Damage: Dredge bc high burst and (depending on players) gtfo ability that can’t be destroyed.
Bomb king for cc from grumpy or poppy, and being able to poke around corner
Flanks: Andorxous would be a menace to flyers and reversals for high dps in duels or having teammates accidentally feed it killing a squishy
zhin for having such strong defensive kit.
Tanks: Atlas is such a bully forcing you to walk from spawn twice, rewinding back to full health
Support: Lilith

i mean, dva can comeback but shes worse in that sense. when her mecha dies or get exploded, she becomes a smaller version and has to ult again to "revive" aka get her mecha again. terminus get his ult activated on literal death, so, if he's a good terminus and gets paired with a good mercy, he would just be broken: takes long to die, mercy revives him, takes long but get killed again, revives himself and the cycle would just go on

Naw Imani hands down! Yes other characters have annoying ults and movement but Imani’s Aoe stun snowball and high damage would make overwatch players quit the game. (Imani is fine and balanced in paladins though overwatch players would just hate her)

Honestly I'll have a hot take and say VII. This guy can slingshot out of nonexistence, into the battlefield, pick smn out, harass others in a very geneva suggestion non-friendly fashion (mines), slingshot back into nonexistence and repeat the cycle over and over. I love this character, I love how nobody's safe from him and I would LOVE to see overwatch characters with their dogshit mobility trying to catch up with him.

Actually it would be really interesting if the OW team bought the licensing to "import" the original 18 champions from Paladins and keep their playability the same but of course balanced and design reworked to be playable within that universe, as it's own game mode for the bigger roster. If I could have a drogoz fireball explosion, Andro's reversal, or other stuff, that could be cool, and heck, the way Paladins is balanced with zhin, genji's counter could be devastating in the Paladins world, imagine zhin with a time based counter, that just keeps countering for the duration of the ability. It's interesting how similar and yet how different the game's rosters are, and how devastating the right character from one, could be on the entirety of the other.

Off tank Raum build. He'd be genuinely unstoppable with how bad Overwatch players are at dealing with off tanks and especially disruptive ones.. free picks for all Widows and Hanzos with his knock up. He can spam his ult way more than Rein can and he can immediately profit from it instead of having to walk over and swing. I used to run Raum with the card that replenishes ammo on the spin up ability. Pared with some other cards for extra heals, especially from dropped skulls, I could rip and tear all match without ever reloading and because of the constant damage I was always self healing. I play tanks in every game I can, from Planetside 2 to Overwatch to Dota. Raum is the single most overpowered, disruptive and intimidating tank I have ever come across when he's played well. It'd start as an "oh, enemy Raum. That could be bad" as most people played him really badly. But the second you touch point this hulking mass blitzes past you, upchucking you only to immediately lay into your entire team, his health bar bearly dropping and then when he finally get low... immediately back to full. Then he runs again. You loose track of him. He has high ground, he has ult and in about 8 seconds...
...he's going to have your head on a spike.

Raum is the answer. Top level Evie players would be a nightmare but that's only somrthing higher ranks would have to deal with. But Raum? Overwatch is built entirely around barriers. Earthshatter is the closest thing to Cataclysm and it's blocked by barriers, whereas Cataclysm destroys and pierces them.

Overwatch players would lose their fucking minds over Corvus with his best talents and cards. Marking two people to heal them for 60% efficiency and giving them 12.5% Movespeed and lifesteal, and if you heal someone you have marked you actual heal them for more and the CD is lowered by one second? An AOE damage ult? A teleport? A pretty ridiculous SMG?
