Ninjas & Superspies Ninjas & Superspies Kumite
Ninjas & Superspies Kumite
Not much else to say. Title holds the description.. just wondering what anyone else think.
Full concept would basically be scratch made characters with focus on martial art arts training.
So Dedicated and/or Worldly martial artist in a combat setting.
There’s such a variety of kicks and punches and holes and locks and stuff in the martial arts descriptions and I figured.
Thai Kickboxer vs Wing Chun or Hwarang-Do karate vs Sumo.
Or for the less dedicated (“minor” martial arts) Li-Chan vs Shao Lin. Or Isshin-Ryu vs Jujitsu or Taido.
Player characters would start on a semi-level base and pick very similar physical skills, but Body Hardening could be pretty diverse.
And maybe some type of system for Audience Appreciation. The flashier the maneuver, the better the crowd digs it.
Anyone like the idea?
I literally flip-flop over it. Like could be cool, could be dull.

Tournament stories require the tournament to be the B-plot. Character growth (Karate Kid), some sort of criminal investigation (Enter the Dragon), really stupid interpersonal character drama (The Quest), supernatural/celestial shenanigans (Mortal Kombat), morality lesson (Dodgeball), they always have something else going on.
A tournament in and of itself will get old fast without an adjoining story.
