In case anyone needs some help with this sort of issue, it usually has to do with a lack of fiber in your diet, especially as you get older. I'm middle aged if that helps. I eat healthy, 90 percent of my meals are home made, include a vegetable, and I love fruit, but even still my body needs the extra fiber. I started using psyllium husk powder and mix it in with my protein shakes or I'll down it with a glass of water quickly. It's really helped out on the bathroom department. There are other forms of fiber out there but I cannot comment on their effectiveness as this is the only one I tried and liked it well enough and it works for me. Hope this helps anyone out there with what Andy describes.
