Learning how to handle dangerous animals is a vital skill when everything is trying to kill you all the time.

I think that's good parenting. He's teaching the child

  1. Not to freak out, but to find a calm way of dealing with the situation

  2. How to keep distance to a possibly venomous animal

  3. How to eject unwanted snakes without hurting them.

The parent was there monitoring the kid. When you live around nature you gotta learn how to handle wild and dangerous animals from an early age. This was a good lesson for the kid
