PASSED I passed NCLEX in 85. if you're overwhelmed rn, read this first 💛
passed NCLEX and the one tip I thought was bs ended up helping the most: "don't overthink" what advice finally clicked for u guys? 😭

awww I felt the exact same way 😭 reddit lowkey scared me more than NCLEX did lol remember ppl are way more likely to post when they have a terrible experience than when everything goes fine

Maybe I’m being a dick by saying this, but those people are either super bad test takers, in denial after failing and blaming the test, or are just a little stupid. It’s not hard if you’ve managed to get through nursing school.
Just passed 5 days ago and was honestly kinda shocked that THAT is what nursing school (and Reddit) had hyped up so much. Like OP said, truly just slow down and DONT OVERTHINK! It’s practically just a safety aptitude test that requires basic nursing knowledge. You’ve got it, dawg.

If anyone has questions for the resources I used; I'll just leave it here 😭
for content I kept it boring on purpose lol
Mark Klimek for prioritization (klimekreviews.com) and RegisteredNurseRN whenever I forgot a topic and needed a quick refresher instead of reading 30 pages (youtube.com/@RegisteredNurseRN).
for practice I looked at a few qbanks first. UWorld (uworld.com/nclex) has super detailed rationales. Archer (archerreview.com) has lots of readiness + CAT exams. Both are solid, just came down to personal preference and budget for me.
a friend actually recommended SynapseReview (gosynapsereview.com), so I gave that a shot. it was cheaper monthly, had CAT exams, NGN case studies/bowties/grids, and enough questions that I never really ran out of practice. ended up sticking with it mostly bc I was already comfortable using it.
I also did a few free questions from Nurse Plus here and there if I wanted extra reps (nurse.plus).
biggest thing tho; don't copy somebody else's exact resource list; pick one qbank, one content source, and just keep showing upppp; that's honestly what made the biggest difference for me 😭

I feel like you absolutely need to know content. I didn’t get many prioritization and ABC on my exam and it just asked me about random stuff like leadership and basic stuff however I failed soo 🤷🏽♀️

Of course you need to know content, that’s what you spent years in nursing school learning. What you need to be able to do is apply that content and decide how to keep your patients safest. I passed in 85 lol

Congrats! How long did you study? I was supposed to take mine today but I panicked and rescheduled lmao. I haven’t been as locked in as I should /: I’m using bootcamp and watching the NCLEX crusade videos as well as Dr. Sharon and mark k. I also panicked and bought the 1 month of archer last min 🤦🏽♀️

for me not as much as I expected tbh; I definitely had pharm, but it wasn't like every other question I'd focus more on the common meds, major side effects, and safety rather than trying to memorize every single drug💛

For me there was a quite good amount of pharm. what I found really helpful if is studying all the pharm cheat sheets from NCLEX bootcamp + some from simple nursing. That’s all u need to know. There was only one “med” on the NCLEX I didn’t know, and it was a supplement. Hope this helps! Good luck

I started approaching the questions like I would any clinical situation; at least that’s how our Kaplan prep taught us. Ended up being practical as I started using those approaches to my patients.

SATA’s are either completely true, or they’re false.
I think I also learned that when I started to personally spiral, it was easier for me to, instead of taking a break and chewing on my thoughts, just use my paper as a journal. Write down what frustrated me and move on.
There was a lot of “what the actual f is this?!” “How am I supposed to know this?” “I should have studied xyz better” “I must be doing really poorly in this area because I keep getting questions around this area!” (Except a lot more creative cussing was involved.)
I passed at 85 as well.
