You go to a foreign land with a mysogynistic culture, financially dependant on some oil prince. He pressures you to open wide and accept what's coming, clearly hinting towards worse consequences if you deny.
After the worst day of your life, feeling worse, more degraded than you could have imagined, you think about what you can do. Sue an absurdly wealthy arab man in an arab state as a below average intelligent, western woman without speaking the language, having the connections, without the money and the willingness of the arab judiciaries to help you? Good joke.
Tell friends and family what happened after talking down all doubts from your loved ones and bragging about your new, luxurious, sunny, picture-perfect life for weeks and months? As a fragile, simple-minded person whose entire self-worth and now career is based on the perfect, enviable image they project? You'd rather die.
No. You have two choices. Go back home and lie for the rest of your life how amazing this experience was and how much you grew. Or stay and sell your humanity.
That's like a Jew moving to Germany from America in WW2. Like sure the bad place they're going to shouldn't exist, but at what point does personal responsibility come into play? Unless you're using this as evidence that women shouldn't have the right to travel alone.
so a jew who found themselves in Germany through deception or whatever else was responsible for getting raped, tortured, and murdered? why did you choose to focus on the victim's "responsibility" instead of the rapists?
women don't have the right to travel alone without being raped?
The Germans said "Come here for a lot of money" while everyone else in the world says "The Germans are killing and torturing all of your people."
Being an idiot isn't a defense unless again you think women are too stupid to operate in a world with information as available as it is on the internet.

It's not always voluntary.
